The U-Turn, if they keep it, should use the challenges from the Speed Bumps. And the Speed Bumps need to be changed to something like both members having to do a Road Block, consecutively, or both sides of a Detour.

I haven't really liked any of the special challenges since they got rid of having a fast forward on every leg (which I understand doing for logistical production reasons). Something that just pops up a couple of times just isn't fair.

I'm with you megan. My feeling on the Speed Bump is if there is going to be a consequence for being last on a non-elim leg, the challenge should be a challenge. Flipping quarters or taking a sauna? With very little travel? Not much of a consequence.

Also, that last stop was five blocks from my apt!

When did ILM move to SF proper?

I liked that the last three clues were Actual Clues.

Coit Tower is one of my top SF places -- I love the WPA murals so much!

Too bad Dan & Jordan started out poisoning the last leg with a dick-ass move about position in line, which was so petty and actually didn't matter at all.

I wonder if Brent & Caite actually got as far as the memory task, and how they did on it once they did....

Punishingly Intricate

I don't remember verbatim, but the dark-haired member of the couple (I'm terrible with names) started bitching out the models for U-turning them.

Well it was after Caite tried to fake apologize. That would have made me blow my top too.

The Yoda statue! That's right next to one of my favorite restaurants.

Which one?!

When did ILM move to SF proper?

Sometime ago I think. 4-5 years, maybe more? Lucas Sound is still in Marin I believe.

I wish they had talked a little about the campus, which is uber-green (they recycled 80% of the Letterman Army Hospital that had been on site) and designed to encourage green behavior, such as using the stairs, etc.

Which one?!

I love love love the Presidio Social Club. Which is right across the street from ILM and housed in one of the old army buildings. It has a fabulous brunch with things like red flannel hash and sloe gin fizzes. At dinner, they also make a fabulous gunpowder gimlet with cayenne pepper around the rim and serve upscale home cooking like crispy pork shank. It's like you are eating in a Mad Men country club. It's a great place for visitors since you can walk through ILM and then down to the Palace of Fine Arts to the water for a view of the bridge. Plus, my Dad actually spent a good part of WWII at the Presidio so I always feel nostalgic when I'm there.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Bummed that it took them as long as it did to figure out how to read the virtual clue--dude, why do you think Jordan was spinning himself sick?

I'm not sure they could have caught up even if they'd figured it out right away - Dan and Jordan had such a huge lead coming out of the plane and they kept it the whole leg.

I liked that the last three clues were Actual Clues.

Me too! So many of the "clues" are just instructions - what's the challenge in that?

And yet, even without the clues being Actual Clues, so many teams manage to screw up. Perhaps there is a limit to how sadistic the challenge creators want to be....
