It really is, Frank. And they're not even scoring the same way as they did last season, with the points. Why do they insist on changing it around? And really, the imbalance in the competition, pairs vs. solo, between this week and last is just stupid.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I wonder if there was a shooting issue where they had to double up for one episode.
You think they'd mention it, though, wouldn't you?
Eh, they never want to admit that kind of stuff. it's like the Heidi/jessica alba wierdness on PR
Since two are going on to the finals, too, I wonder if it's more like one person dropped out this week, and the chefs for to to solo it since they had an uneven number.
That fact that two out of five got to go vs. two out of - was it 4 or 5 pairs - really chaps. I don't know what the fuck they are doing, but I hope the feedback is so negative that they fix this shit somehow.
I REALLY hated the team-up stuff last week - it would have been obnoxious first episode on a regular Top Chef, and for Masters it feels incredibly insulting; doubly so if they aren't going to be consistent.
SYTYCD:
One of the great personalities of #SYTYCD & a truly great Hip Hop dancer. Thanks QUEST for lending him to us. Dominic is back as an All-Star
I am very meh on this one.
I like Dominic, he was cute. I'm a little concerned about why they have two male hip hop dancers though. Maybe not all of the "all stars" will perform each week?
On AI, I'm very pleased that the Katie-bot and Andrew went home last night. Andrew turned out to be just a huge disappointment. And even with those two going, there are still so many of them. Dear lord. We still have to get rid of Turban (Thanks, Ryan!) and the last Twink standing before we even get to "At least they can all sing" mode. Sigh. And next week is Idol Gives Back. I hate Idol Gives Back. Please, please no Ben Stiller. At least Glambert was great last night. I really thought Ryan was going to throw him down and have his way with him right on stage last night. Understandable, but inappropriate for a family show.
On SYTYCD, I was very happy with Anya and I'm very unhappy but unsurprised about Dom. Much like Mischa Chan, Nigel has a frightening obssession with Dom. I still have nightmares about Dom's man on the street interviews were he forced poor, unsuspecting teens to dance outside of Target or Wal-mart or whatever random parking lot they had him stowed in. Awkward. Of all the great dancers in Qwest who've also competed on SYTYCD (and I think that's almost all of them) Dom would be my very last choice. I mean, we could've had Hok again, for pity's sake.
That's three hip hop all stars now: Twitch, Comfort, and Dom. That seems like a lot. I think they must be having more than ten because isn't Mark the only contempo boy thus far? They do way too many jazz/lyrical/broadway routines to only have one or two male contemporary dancers.
On Top Chef, I guess I'm not outraged because the last thing I expect reality tv to be is fair. And while he came off kind of cocky, I enjoyed the Swedish chef last night because he is some fine man candy. With Govind last week plus the Swedish chef and Mekhi this week, the show is delivering some serious pretty.
isn't Mark the only contempo boy thus far?
I think Ade is listed as being an all star for contemporary.
I guess I hope that the doubling/tripling up of styles might mean we get something other than all 2-partner dances, but that's dreaming.
