They were worried about getting on the second bus because the line was so long, so they went looking for a different bus company. But instead of looking around for the best option, it looked to me like they just bought the first tickets they found.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
And they knew when they got them that they were an hour or more behind and just kind of shrugged and hoped for the best. That's why I'm not too sorry to see them gone, much as I liked them. If they struggled because of the grandmother's physical strength (or balance!) or something like that, it would be a sadder exit. But they weren't fighting even in the stuff that had zero to do with any physical capabilities.
Yeah, the cowboys ran a great leg, which was nice to see. And even though the tasks kind of played to their strengths, too, I would not have been surprised if a team that thought they could buy any kind of foreign money and it would work out could get lost driving around....
I think part of that money exchange was edited to show them as being stupid when they were trying to think ahead. One of them commented that it was the only "walking around money" that was available. I'm almost willing to bet that the exchange person assured them that the money would work in Chile (I forget what kind they got).
I'm surprised that any teams did the condor jump in the water challenge. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Clearly, if anyone recorded me traveling to places I didn't know about, I would at some point say or do something stupid.

I'm pretty sure that for me, the traveling part would not be necessary.
I think that the money was Brazilian.

Heh.

I like them, and we've seen much better from them since. But I think trying to explain this without a significant helping of stupid is a stretch.
I'll put it down to 'too much excitement' with the adrenaline... which does explain a lot of general mistakes by teams. The ability to chill your emotions and think logically and carefully is a greatly underrated advantage in a race like this.
