"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I have had so many negative experiences with people with the first name of Michael that it took until the recent three years when I have a friend named Michael that I let go of my initial wariness at meeting Michaels.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's funny -- I feel like half of the guys I have known in my life have been named Michael.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Michael was the #1 name in the country for about 40 years from the 50s on.

I had a lot of Davids and a LOT of Erics. Four of my closest friends over the years (two of whom I'm still close with) were Erics, and I knew even more.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The other name I have wariness with is "Kevin." In person, I have yet to meet a Kevin who hasn't been a major asshole.

I'm looking for a good Kevin.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I'm looking for a good Kevin.

Because books.

We had about a million Johns of various spellings. A lot of guys named Chris, too.

I actually love the name Michael for a guy. Not fond of Mike, though.
