This season started off so promising. What happened?
It's BORING. Carol Hannah is a sweetheart who makes pretty dresses and not much more. Irina is a stone bitch who thinks the sun rises and sets on her, despite her lovely clothes (which I think are lovely, but not exceptional). And Althea is hit or miss with me, in terms of what she makes, but she's no rocket scientist.
I think of those three, Althea is the most interesting in terms of her designs, but her execution is never quite there. I mean, the judges apparently see it, but I don't.
If next episode Carol Hannah makes something not a dress and knocks it out of the park, I'll be able to root for her all the way, I think. Althea is just not to my taste and Irina seems to have nothing to her look besides being "luxe" and "rich-looking".
I actually like Gordana's aesthetic the best, but when she misses she really misses. I think that jacket could have been really cool if she had made all the edges more ragged and like the strips she made the divorcee's dress out of, which is where I thought she was going when Tim asked about the finish, but she either didn't see that or played it safe.
I guess next week poor, lonely Christopher will have to talk to himself about how he doesn't know what the judges want from him before the challenge.
Meana Irina needs to realize that the bitchy women (AFAIR) don't win. Wendy? Didn't win. Laura? Didn't win. Kenley? Didn't win. In fact, I'm pretty certain that at least those three placed last.
Check your shit, babe. Check your shit.
Laura is three thousand times more awesome than Irina.
Oh me, too. Laura was excellent. Her bitchy never seemed *that* mean to me, either.
The whole thing of accusing Jeffrey at Bryant Park really got under my skin. I didn't much like her from the beginning and that just tipped me over.

I don't think that she was bitchy at all. She had a strong point of view and wasn't afraid to speak her mind.

I think that she honestly believed that there was an issue. She didn't do it to be bitchy or to try to screw with her competition. And frankly, I wouldn't have put it past Jeffery to cheat. If she had made the same claim about Micheal, I would have said "whoa", but it didn't seem out of the realm of possibility. Of course, I hated Jeffrey, so that
may
have colored my judgment just a little.
Also, even though they couldn't prove that the Angry Little Peanut farmed his construction out to others, he did go over budget and was forced to lose the hideous blonde wigs (and maybe something else?). So yeah, he was a cheater. Just like Kara Saun (as much as I loved her) and the "free" shoes. I was so Team Laura on that one.
Irina is not even an entertaining bitch in the way that Kenley or Wendy Pepper were. I don't love to hate her. She's just annoying. I will agree that this show has been sadly lacking in personality. Primarily, I think, because they kicked all of the interesting people off fairly early - Ra'Mon and Epperson were really good designers; Malvin and Ari were twelve different flavors of crazy, but would never have been boring; Qrystl was pretty much a bad designer, but she gave great quote. And all to keep around a bunch of young, mostly bland, mostly boring pretty people and Gordana (because Heidi needed a whipping girl). I have not wanted to give in to the Bunim/Murray hate, but it hasn't escaped me that the majority of the folks who stuck around for a long while would not be out of place in a Real World house.
