Russell wasn't really in the bottom 2. God knows why they put him in there (more pimping?) but he wasn't in danger. They know he's a big favorite right now, and I think he's received more camera time than any other dancer. They've even gone to the trouble of completely whitewashing his significant dance training a la Joshua. (Or is it krumpwashing?)
90% of the dancers think of it as "oldies", the way we think of calliope music.
Isn't this true of most of the dance styles, though? Waltz, foxtrot, jive, two-step, broadway? I like the disco, though. It may be a bunch of tricks, but it's fun to watch, and it reveals the weak dancers.
Russell *thought* he was in the bottom two, though. It was in his face, and the way he danced. He was *pissed.*

That's why I felt bad for Brandon -- it felt like adding insult to injury.

I was pretty sure that he said that he had been trained in other styles when he auditioned, but when he was asked in Vegas, he said that he didn't have any other training. Maybe to give himself a better chance?
Well, there's some Top Chef dinner conversation you don't expect to see.
Padma, Tom
and Natalie Portman (plus unnamed friend) riffing on blow-jobs.
What is going on with
my girl Jen? I think she's done. Emotionally, if not according to the judges tonight.
I agree on both counts, brenda. I read somewhere that Natalie Portman has said she has the sense of humor of a twelve-year-old boy, though.
That was hilarious.
How come no one made a starch? Did I miss something?
I can't remember exactly what Russell said in Vegas, but I remember it being ambiguous -- in any case, the fox website says: [link]
Russell Ferguson started dancing when he was 3 years old and began dancing professionally at age 6. He trained at the Boston Art Academy and has worked with Boston City Lights. His interests include acting, singing, drawing, rapping and making music.
And it's obvious to even a casual observer to me that he has training in other styles, so the judges must be aware, aside from the above.

There were some potatoes in there, but no one made pasta or rice, which surprised me. Or couscous, actually.
