Because books.

PR: I was on the phone the whole time, so only half watching, but damn. Epperson, really?! What the hell was that? I had a horrible 1984 flashback to Jessica McClintock and GunneSax.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'd completely forgotten that Jeff has a blog!

HOST-LESS CHALLENGE INSIGHT – We have talked about doing something like this for a long time. A challenge in which nobody is there. Nobody tells them anything. We just watch to see what they do. This was a major experiment. How would it work without having me there to moderate and oversee everything? And for the record, I wasn’t hiding in the bushes, “just in case.” When we commit, we commit. I was back in my tent reading an old copy of Rolling Stone. Poor Michael Jackson.

And as you saw, the host-less challenge worked so well CBS is probably figuring out how they can do a “Host –less Tribal Council” as well! Hope not. I have not yet paid off my mortgage.

Oh traveling for work, how I don't love you at all. Throwing off my SYTYCD watching. Can I just say that I am still loving me some Iveta? She and her scary cheekbones are just fun. I still don't think she's the best ballroom girl they've had on the show even if she is a world champion. (That would still be Lacey. As much as I loved Marksie, Lacey was a better all around dancer, IMHO) And I still think she looks quite long in the tooth, but with all of the SYTYCD alums on DWTS these days, I figure there's got to be a place for her, right?

But I want to take about Russell. Russell, Russell, Russell. He was all world, y'all! I knew that any dancer with that much body control was bound to be able to rock other styles. I am so hoping for the break down scene to be a fake out, because I want that kid on the show. He's AH-mazing. And he made Shankdaddy happier than school girl with freshly done hair on class picture day.

Caught up on PR. Surprised to see Epperson gone instead of Logan, actually - Epperson's was fugly, but at least it didn't look like it was held together with scotch tape. (I'm sure his "this challenge was confusing!" attitude didn't help, though.) Logan's outfit was ugly and badly made.

Christopher needs to pull it together and start making clothes that look like clothes instead of art projects. He's clearly got talent, but he needs to step back and actually think about people wearing his garments.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

with all of the SYTYCD alums on DWTS these days

Oh, who else? I only knew about Lacey.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

SYTYCD: Yup! Lots of upsets. Although I must say, despite my love-on for the remaining Kasprzak, they were totally right to boot him. Dunno why he fell down on the job so bad, but he did. Will this hurt his choreography chances in the future? Because I want him to choreograph.

No shiny ballet toy. Heart-wrenching. When will I get him on my teevee? Will I have to go to Miami to watch him? Ooh...F2F? Someone check his corps' schedule.

Otherwise, there are some interesting possibilities. We shall see. How much more Vegas is left?

TC: I love Kevin. He rocks it. Way to be bold with the cash choice.

I know Robin is talky, no question there. But this passive aggressive stuff is just nuts. Why not just say, your talking so much is making me crazy?

PR: Aww, Epperson. I like him. I didn't mind the dress so much. But I wasn't surprised he went home. Too bad, though.

I also thought it was weird Carol Hannah didn't get a nod. I really liked her dress.

Agree on the challenges with real people. How humiliating, especially in context of the challenge.
