I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I'd never even heard of ceviche until the past year or so. And I totally agree that fish on a desert cookout was not the best idea in the world.

SYTYCD: this round of auditions did not impress me at all. I did like the gay ballroom dancers (very impressive), and it'll be interesting to see how far the deaf dancer can go in Vegas, but other than that, no one really stood out except as The Ones To Be Mocked.

Oh, and the b-boy at the end; he was good, too. I've been wondering where all the hiphoppers were at this season!

I'm more perplexed by the Season of Ceviche.

Well, that's certainly part of it.

I'd never even heard of ceviche until the past year or so.

But do you know how to pronounce it?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Don't you think they chose fish because it would cook faster? I wouldn't want to cook a steak over a campfire. I'd rather eat all vegetables first.

SYTYCD: I think the Deaf woman has skill, but not skilled enough to compete on SYTYCD. The show has EXCELLENT dancers. Homegirl ain't gonna make it and shouldn't.

I'm pretty sure she won't make it past Vegas. I don't think she would have been put through if she hadn't been deaf, but giving her the chance makes them look good.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I said to Allyson last night, "This is Top Chef, not Top Ceviche!"

Seriously.

And I was going to say, didn't they have an outdoor ceviche problem earlier, but I guess that was Masters.

I just did a tally. Last night's episode featured a record breaking (okay, I'm assuming it's record breaking) SIX ceviches. (4 in the QF and 2 in the EC.)

That brings our season ceviche total to 11. And we're only on the fifth episode.

ETA:

I'd never even heard of ceviche until the past year or so.

I first remember hearing about it in Season 1 when Harold made a ceviche with spicy popcorn or something.

Don't forget, Mattin did a trio of ceviche(s?).

I am happy to note that there seem to be fewer duos and trios of things this season.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Maybe after last night they'll all get superstitious about ceviches. Maybe.

I am happy to note that there seem to be fewer duos and trios of things this season.

God, seriously.

Because books.

Yeah, I'm as tired of anything "three ways" as I am of ceviche. I've never had a ceviche of anything.

SYTYCD: On a completely shallow level, one of the gay ballroom guys had the most beautiful face.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I love ceviche and I'm STILL bored with it on this season. (Ditto scallops - love to eat 'em. Will FALL ASLEEP if I ever see another one cooked on TV.)
