You didn't watch last season, did you, Amy? That was by far one of my favorites. They had a lot of good stuff.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I didn't! My SYTYCD cherry has been popped with this season.
It really was fun to see last season's people. I wish they would have told us what they were up to.
Mercy for me was: Katie = awesome, Twitch = stand around a lot.
I need to remember to stay away from Facebook when I'm on Tivo delay. I got spoiled for the winner of Drag Race, and who got eliminated tonight.
I re-watched some of last night's - in the girls' routine only Melissa did not have any time in the front, and as Mary noted, Kayla had a few extra showcase moves that the other girls did not. odd.
What in God's name was Cat wearing? and her hair. is it the mid-80s and are we on an evening soap?
STUPID EVAN!!!
Frikkin' Mini-Gene! Ewww. Well that ending left a bad taste in my mouth. And the rest of the show was so, so good. Tasty's group dance was his best work all season. Jessica and Will's beautiful piece. Even though I hated that door dance, it was fun to see Twitch and the original Fat Face again. Josh is always welcome and Chelsie and Mark and Bleeding Love again was fantastic. Plus Jabbawookeez and ABDC love. Plus Sean Paul and some random hood rats he picked up at the liquor store on his way to the studio. It was all gravy and then, Mini-Gene. Bleagh.
Aaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least they took me out of my misery early by putting through Jeanine and Brandon right away.
When will Evan leave? Apparently never.
I really think he could win, which is tragic and wrong. I have had my disagreements with past winners of this show. I could argue that Travis should've beaten Benji in S2 and I am 100% certain that Danny was robbed of his crown when Sabra beat him out in S3, but even when I've wanted someone else to take the crown, I've believed that the person who did win was a talented and versatile dancer. Sabra could do anything on the show - ballroom, hip hop, jazz, contemporary. I can think of routines that she danced in every genre that were some of my favorites from her season. Benji is the same way. Yes, he was a West Coast Swing goofball. But he also turned it out in Hip Hop with Too Much Booty, and he had a number of lovely ballroom pieces with Donyell and he became a skilled enough contemporary dancer to hang in that Top 6 group routine by Mia (still the best top 6 routine of all time!). These were dancers who learned and grew and had many, many layers to their dancing. Evan has the one cute, MGM Musical, Gene Kelley thing that he does and while he's great at that, he doesn't do anything else particularly well. I haven't seen a ton of growth from him this season. And that would make him, IMO, the worst winner that the show has ever produced. I'm hoping either Jeanine or Brandon can take him down. I think Kayla's personality is too stank to do the job. But who knows?
