I have also been getting intermittent server missing messages. This usually happens after reading a thread and going back to the message center.

Regarding the intermittent outages:
Our IT people can't find traces of the outages in their bandwidth logs. They did reboot the server once yesterday, but other than that, they don't see signs of the server being down.
They did suggest a course of action to help trace the outages; I'm forwarding the full text of their reply to my query to ita.
