Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

Was the JM thing from the commentary for What's My Line, Kassto?

Made her sound real.

Yeah, had the same effect on me. I know the rabid abuse some fans have slung her way ticked me off to a greater extent after listening to it.

`He combed his hair, Put on a shirt that his mother made, And he went on the air...'

Yeah, it was What's My Line. It just seemed WAY too personal to be blabbing about in public. I would hate it if someone said that about me on a DVD for all the world to hear, even if I was hot and a TV star.

I don't know what it would be like to be an extraordinarily good-looking TV star who heaps of viewers lust after. What would it be like to live like that? What sort of life do you have behind that? It could get really confusing, particularly if you are not very sure of yourself, which seems to be the case with a lot of actors. What would it be like to be the object of so much looking?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

From what I've seen of JM in public, he seems to be very willing to lap up the attention. Boy was working the head tilt/eye contact thing like nobody's business.

And why not? Hella potent.

edit: But you know what? That's pure speculation. Marti, OTOH, knows him reasonably well, I guess, so she has a better idea of what his boundaries are.

Aaarghh! Tonight's Angel (The Magic Bullet) was advertised as starting at 11.30, so there I was at 11.00, happily watching my tape of the 90210 reunion special, when I casually switched to Channel 7 and it was already on! So I'm tapeless. Do any Aussies have a copy they can lend me?

Are you ready to be strong?

Marti & JM know each other well enough for that kind of sweet teasing to be well tolerated, I'm fairly sure.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Hey, all. On A & E (cable) last night, I saw ads for US broadcast of a show called MI-5. I am vaguely recalling British discussion of this show, which went (?) under another name, back in the spring. Anyone care to refresh my memory? It starts here is about 2 weeks.

That would be Spooks. It's terribly written, like unbelievably bad, but strangely entertaining and glamorous.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

So, sort of like Alias, but a British sort of glamour instead of the Hollywood kind?

I've got a copy, Angus. It's recorded on long-play, but it was recorded off digital tv so its fine to watch. Are you in Melbourne area? Because I'm going to be down there tomorrow for a cousin's 21st so I could just post it while I was there if you want to email me your addy (my profile addy is fine.)
