I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

That's the one. The Red Lion sounds right too.

Glad to help. Stone circles are a minor interest of mine.

I don't remember it being log shaped and I think that's something that I wouldn't forget if it were.

No, when I've had it I didn't noticed log shaped. Cooked as a great big sticky mass, cube or round or whatever shape your cooked pot is, and then served in big lumps. And you don't notice the suet because it's hot and melted, and therefore see-through. IIRC, there's suet or similar in the mincemeat you put in mincepies, too, and that's not bad.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Popping in really quickly to say Happy Canada Day to our Canadian UnAms!

`He combed his hair, Put on a shirt that his mother made, And he went on the air...'

Have you seen what eating these kind of puddings makes the English look like?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Why yes! My mirror and I are well acquainted. But thank you for asking.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Fay if your mirror is telling you that you are less than gorgeous it is lying.

Always Anti-fascist!

Most of us probably can't eat like our ancestors, Kassto. Mine in particular ate eggs and bacon all of the time but they also plowed fields and hauled water and worked off a million calories. And of course, some of them were English and probably enjoyed a Spotted Dick, too. Though mostly, the women liked smooth ones, probably.

I actually love that the English eat badly. Health nuts are so tiresome. I went into an English supermarket once and there seemed to be 19 aisles of cakes and one aisle of everything else.

And, oh God, why is fandom so painful? Just wasted several dollars on some idiotic teen TV magazine just because it promised Buffy wrap party pics inside. I looked at the pictures with my eyes half closed just so as not to spoil myself with something, and it just hurt to think about the end.

Which leads me on to.... I have done something very bad. Had anxiety attack about what was going to happen in finale. Visited an evil shooting script site and spoilt myself hugely right to the end. I am so angry at what happens, and hate myself for doing it. Major gloom.

Kassto, I'm not loving the assertion that we eat hilariously badly, actually. Or at least, that our national cuisine is any less healthy than that of any other Northern European country. Or indeed the US. If you're telling me that New Zealand is populated by people who eat only salad, whilst jogging on the spot, then I'll bow to your greater knowledge. Astonishingly, however, the UK has discovered vegetables, and has even come to terms with the concept of not serving them in suet with a side-dish of cake.

...and possibly I should go to bed, because I seem to be unable to keep my Inner Stroppy Cow in check. Probably a sign of too little sleep again. Sorry. 'Night all.

Fay, I was teasing. Just the way I was teased when I turned up on this board a month ago and was hurled a faggotload of sheep jokes. Which have some basis in truth (some 15 sheep to every person here) and some not (most people live in cities, away from said sheep). I'm sure the same is true of the English and their food.

And hey, can't remember when I last ate a salad or ran on the spot.

And before someone goes wah-wah at my use of the word ``faggot'', I mean it in the sense of ``a bundle of...''
