You know, I highlighted that and as soon as I un-highlighted I forgot it completely.
Wait, are you saying there's some sort of connection between Angel and Cordy ?

Soooo, I've discovered that strawberry daiquiris are great for making Angel look extra hot, but Conner remains irredeemably dumb as fuck. I mean I feel for the boy, what the dumb-as-fuck apparently being Daddy-gene, but Damn, he be stupid. And now I shall stop posting while tipsy.
What a sophisticated drinker you are, Leigh. I only ever drink boring old cider like a yokel from the counties.
Just been rewatching Once More With Feeling and appreciating it anew. Initially I was so blown away by all the Spuffy chemistry that I didn't notice other things -- like the sheer wit of the lyrics, Giles's and Tara's wonderful performances. And overall, the verve of the whole show, and its abiding melancholy. So much loss about to come. To have written all the songs and made it all work -- Joss remains the Higher Authority.

Heh, not really. Both of my best-friends have done bar-courses and we were having a night of teaching me how to make sweet sugary alcohol while watching 8 femmes, Thelma and Louise and a Care Bears movie (yes, we were feeling just a little bit girly, why do you ask?). I just raided the left-overs this morning because I didn't really want to watch my tape of Cordy-the-lame-ass-manipulator while completely sober.
BTW, Emlah, I'll be coming up to Sydney next week...do you feel like having a drink or something?
That would be fun but I'm going to be paralysed by uni work over the next few weeks - essays and preliminary thesis stuff and what not. I'm going to basically be moving from my home computer to the uni library to work to bed then lather rinse repeat. Not that I'm whinging, mind. Okay, I totally am. Thanks for asking though.
Heh. Just a little. (If by 'a little' you mean 'like the 50c spoiler-ho I really am')
Hee! Fair enough. Sigh. I kind of miss my spoiler-ho days. I mean, going spoiler free has it's advantages but I wanna know now now now now NOW where it's all headed.
That's cool, Emlah...what are you studying btw?
You Connor haters should just remember that he's only been in this dimension for a year or so...cut the poor lad some slack!
...cut the poor lad some slack!
I'd rather cut the poor lad some hair, but that's just me.

Plus, he did manage to keep Gunn and Fred from figuring out that gee, HE was the one to sink Angel. For a whole summer.
He's not stupid so much as eighteen and easily lead by the short hairs.
(Crazy haircutting people.)

See, I remember this, and I don't hate Connor, but I stand by my 'can be dumber than a box of Angel's hair' assessment. I like the character, I love his interaction with Angel and yes, he was raised in a hell dimension by a pyschotic and his attitude is perfectly understandable. But his reaction to Cordelia's less than convincing 'explanations' just makes me wonder in an affectionate sort of way how he's managing those basic motor functions with a brain that's turned to pudding.

Not to get all defensive about my age group, but I think he demonstrates a level of density about Cordy's actions irrespective of his age or the status of his short-hairs. I mean-- 'there's always a reason', 'we're special' 'good and evil are just words' and my all time favourite 'I need to imprint the blood of an innocent on my preternatural pregnant tummy'. Neon. Flashing. Sign. Of. Evil. If he hadn't been so obviously trusting of her after each half-assed manipulative lie then I'd cut him more slack, but as it is, I'm stuck at 'dumb'.

Actually, [has everyone seen the end of the season? Whitefont just in case] what happened with Jasmine makes me buy the Cordy thing a little more. When you're actively trying to beat down and shut out any niggling doubts, it's a lot easier to buy into otherwise transparent bs. Obviously she was up to something and trying to manipulate him. But he wanted that connection so freaking badly he was willing to pretend not to understand a lot. It wasn't that he didn't get it - he didn't want to get it. Up to and including the 'virgin sacrifice' bit - it seemed clear, to me anyway, that he was fully aware this was all fucked up. Look at the way he makes his decision and then leaps to act on it before any second thoughts can break through. Bon-bon knew he was being used. He just thought the payoff would be worth it.
