Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

To every idea a shelf...

And Emlah, I've changed my mind, the have/have-not thing is brilliant.

I think it's brilliant in that it has totally shaken up the house, and some of the interaction has been hilarious. But I'm also finding it a bit cringy - that whole thing with Jamie moving into Chrissie's bed made me flick channels until it was over.

Meanwhile, Dan is growing on me more and more. Have you read his diary entry about the have/have-not thing? He seems like such a nice guy. What are your thoughts on his 'strategic' nominations? I think it's just his way of getting through the nominations as quickly as possible, that he's doing it in an ironic kind of 'Can't argue with this, can you BB?' way. Do you think he's playing the game?

See, I always liked Connor, or wanted to like him, and then a couple of episodes from the end of this last season, my patience ran out.

Edit: and now you've moved on to the Aussie BB talk and I look a little crazy....

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

I'm with Angus on this one; I thought the "retcon" was a great con.

That is, of course, if it was a retcon. I mean, it is possible some people are being too comic book guyish about it. I'll only believe it is a retcon when Josh Sweden or Tim Minotaur sally forth and admit to such a felony. Until that time, I'll view it as the culmination of a story arc begun when Doyle died. Very Babylon 5-ish, dudes!

Couldn't agree more, Emlah. It took me a while to warm to him but now I think he's fantastic.

And I agree with jimi about the retcon...or at least I want to.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Whitefont: Oh, it's a retcon. I'm pretty sure they've said the ascension was serious at the time. (Look, an unsourced rumor!) But I so don't care, it was such a relief.

Eh, I don't REALLY see it as a retcon, because while there intent may have been to show the Crapture as a serious thing, they didn't really CHANGE anything, or backtrack over continuity, or mash canon with a fork to get there. Spike's sire is Dru? Retcon. This? NSM.

I think of it more as an Alias-tastic reset. Could just be me.

Well, I don't think that it's contradicting anything that specifically came before really, no. But I don't think they've been planning this as a plot point for three years either. Which I hasten to say doesn't bother me in this case.

Oh, no, not at all. I'm still happy as hell that they did it, because I can safely tuck the whole Angel/Cordy thing into my "of course, she infected with EVIL at the time, so it wasn't REALLY Cordy completely changing her character and deciding that she loved Angel" excuse. Brr. Unclean.

Nobody

Uh, are we white-fonting for a reason? If it's a NZ shaped reason, then cool. But I don't see any other reason to bother.
