The biggest audible audience reaction I've ever heard to a film is a polite round of applause when they rolled the closing credits.
Yeah, I had this once, too. It was even quite exuberant. It was also at a showing of Gladiator, so I think it was less appreciation of the film's pure artistry and more relief that Russell finally conked it.
Edit - That sucks Angus, I hope it turns out to be nothing. I'm trying to think of health vibey things and all I'm coming up with is the Sound of Music 'These are a few of my favourite things' song, which is both useless and ear-wormy.
non-big-outpouring vibes to you, Angus.
What amy said, Angus. Hope you feel better soon.
(((Understated Edwardian Vibes)))
Leigh ... I think you're pretty safe saying Aussies, as a rule, don't do that stuff.
Having said that, I have been to a double-bill where people applauded and cheered during the opening and closing credits and most places in between. Of course, it was a double-bill of
Plan 9 From Outer Space
and
Robot Monster
and the audience was made up of nutters, so it was a rare occurence. :)
Edited to say:
ooh, cool nubmer and to pass on best wishes to Angus.
~~~~~health-ma for Angus~~~~~
{{Angus}}
Don't be ill. Enough people in my life are doing that already.
Angus, you have to be certain to come to the F2F. Everybody knows how wholesome and healthful Los Angeles is.
