Is USian Whitman's the same as Un-Am Whitman's? Because the stuff we got in Australia was borderline edible.
The stuff we got in Australia is my basis for this. Given it's now pulled out of the Australian market, I believe history has vindicated me.

Julie, I'd hazard a guess that ...
the stuff we got in Australia was borderline edible
was exactly the sort of sentiment that BT was driving at.
In memememe news, I've now replaced my modem, processor, cd rom, and hard drive. Unfortunately my browser seems to have a hernia opening more than one window at a time and something is chewing up some amazing amounts of resources because the system keeps locking up every time I try to do more than one thing, so I'm still a bit intermittant here but persevering. Keep those extremities at the ready for crossing if I need it.

It's the story of grandfather's axe, isn't it? Five new heads and three new hands and good as new :)

That's a whole lot of crossing. Don't use it all up immediately!
God, the Smartie argument confuses me. Our Smarties are little round chalky things that come in rolls. Like Pez, but sour, sort of.
No joke, Holli! The can be purchased in a roll, but I only ever had them two at a time at Halloween.
And I just went and got an apple out of the fridge-mmmm.
I think I've discovered the variety of apple that Eve ate (and probably Snow White too). They're called Spartans. Quite small, perfectly shaped, deep crimson skin, crunchy, impossibly white flesh, just sweet enough, they're fantastic. I've only ever seen them at one organic stall at the Vic Market though, so good luck finding them.
I think I'd like to see a little more evidence for these big bold statements!
Well...

I'm just sayin'. Though it's true I was relying a bit too heavily on the George Dubya methodology of evidence, which is what happens when you just make things up, I'm told.
The real cultural difference is in the foods t /repeats herself Most of the recent 150 posts or so could be written in some other-than-English written-in-Latin-letters language, and I'd understand them pretty much the same.
My contribution to the discussion: chocolate is good.
Oooooh!
Just seen my first ever advert for Firefly and I'm very excited. It hits our screens May 12th, and I know we're getting all the episodes, but I'm not sure in which order. I'm assuming the 'correct' order, though.
Yay!
I'm actually rather looking forward to getting your-all reactions to the episodes, because it will be like seeing them all over again for the first time.
According to the listings in this month's Sky magazine, the first episode of Firefly being shown has "the crew of Serenity...involved in a bar brawl." Is that the actual first episode, or the actually-not first episode?
And I too am very, very excited.
