Looniversity IT has always been better balanced than the larger IT world, and looniversity library IT even more so -- but even with those disclaimers, it's been forever since I've been the only woman in a techly meeting, which used to happen pretty often.

Acrylic resin can definitely be ground down after casting -- that's exactly how those clear plastic awards statuettes are made, per an episode of How It's Made.

sarameg, I've been told that late in the evening on Wednesdays is a time when airlines traditionally release extra seats at lower fare classes. (Have not actually checked whether this is so.) So all might not be lost.
