I want to mold a clear material in the shape of a cube. So when it's done, it would look (as much as possible) as if it were made of glass.
You aren't making your own glass eyes, are you?
It sounds like you want clear acrylic resin. I'm not sure if you can grind it down, but I'm sure they could tell you at a craft store. [link]
Argh. I was all virtuous and brought my lunch today. I was looking forward to it! And of course I wander into the lunch room to discover that both microwaves aren't working.
Stupid electricity. Why you gotta thwart me this way?
Acrylic resin can definitely be ground down after casting -- that's exactly how those clear plastic awards statuettes are made, per an episode of
How It's Made.

Heh. Somehow I feel a cube is not the ideal shape for an artificial eye....
Anyway, thanks - that looks like it might work.
Anyone know what the case of a Mac Cube is made of?
I forgot to bring in the paper with the new card # on it, and already fares are nearly $600. Which means they'll just get worse and I really need to talk to the parents before I'll let them shell out that much.
sarameg, I've been told that late in the evening on Wednesdays is a time when airlines traditionally release extra seats at lower fare classes. (Have not actually checked whether this is so.) So all might not be lost.
I hate: travelocity, orbitz, continental.com and maybe even southwest.com.
Mainly the first 3 for LYING and making me waste time.
Try kayak.com Much better than orbitz, etc., though you still have to look up SW directly.
I'm not even watching S60 anymore (I just couldn't take it), but considering that
every single mall in the greater metropolitan area
has a friggin'
snow machine
going, and I'm betting there's still some to spare, that's just plain idiotic.
Thanks, brenda. I just chafe at these fares. I mean, yes, I'm flying to the edge of nowhere, I realize. And am a little frustrated with my family and have learned I just don't LIKE this holiday much at all anymore. Just as soon cancel it.
Well, the good news is that apparently my late application (to replace one of my dissertation advisors who retired this year) is still under consideration. The bad news? The chair spelled my first name wrong on her letter. Not only did I teach there for years, but I have one of the most common French names there is! This can't be a good sign.
