The guy from Empty Netters addressed the texts. (Basically what you'd expect -- they were taken out of context, it was from before he saw the show, etc.) [link]
Premium Cable: The Cursing Costs Extra

Yeah, I don't think they get that what has most people up in arms isn't just that they were skeptical/unwelcoming of the show before they saw it, but rather the slurs and MAGA dogwhistles they used in being dismissive of its creators and audience. And the fake/performative nature of their sudden 180° when it boosted their viewership immensely and they realized there was cash to be had from piggybacking on queer entertainment.
Unrelated to anythng y'all are talking about - watched the first episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms because I remember liking the Dunk and Egg stories maybe more than ASoIaF and certainly more than Fire and Blood and whatnot. It was pretty slow, I hope it picks up
The Pitt episode 3, no rodents
Thanks.
Also, Mayor Mamdani's message to the people of NYC, telling them to stay home and not risk going out in the snow unless necessary, included a suggestion to borrow the ebook of Heated Rivalry from the library and read that at home.
Good advice!
KotSK ep 2 got better
I’m torn between wishing I remembered anything of the plot of the books and being sort of pleased that I do not so it will all be a surprise.
The Pitt ep 4, no rodents
Has anyone watched Paradise? I saw an impressive disaster movie-style clip from it that might scratch an itch that's gone unrelieved for me since Godzilla Minus One, but if it's 99% a political thriller with the apocalyptic stuff just being the sizzle for trailers I don't want to waste my time.
I really liked Paradise! I’m not sure it’s what you’re looking for, although I haven’t seen Godzilla Minus One to really compare. I wanna say Paradise is more of a political thriller but it’s really well written and performed and definitely has apocalyptic elements.
Eta: also didn’t realize there’ll be a season 2.
