You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Anna is married to Steve MacDonald of Red Kross.

... who went to high school with my best friend. (Sort of, few years apart.)

Always thought I just wanted to play my songs ... now I think it's time we at least get along ...

Love me some Red Kross.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's weird. It's like discovering Wendy Melvoin (Wendy & Lisa, Prince etc.) was the daughter of Mike Melvoin's (first call sixties studio piano player. Played on everything from Mission: Impossible theme to Pet Sounds).

Or that Chris and Paul Weitz (the guys who produced American Pie) are the children of Susan Kohner (who played the gorgeous black daughter who could pass in Imitation of Life).

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

who was in the band That Dog.

That was the media hook for That Dog -- that they were all kids of famous music people. Other members were the Hayden sisters (Petra, et al), who were the spawn of Charlie.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

That's Haden, not Hayden. Another fun fact about Petra Haden that surprised the crap out of me recently: she appeared on Sunn 0)))'s 2nd album.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Or that Lenny Kravitz is the son of Roxie Roker, AKA Helen Willis on The Jeffersons.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well, I knew Anna was Lenny's daughter. I just didn't realize that she was Donna Loren's daughter. Oh well, I'll connect all the dots eventually.

Also? Doyle Bramhall is Wendy Melvoin's brother-in-law.

Other famous Hollywood Kids In Music: Terry Melcher (Doris Day's son, key West coast producer, conduit to Charles Manson); Peter Lewis of Moby Grape was Loretta Young's son; Dino (son of Dean Martin), Desi (son of Lucy and Desi) and Billy; Gary Lewis and the Playboys.

And of course, Don Grady from My Three Sons was in The Yellow Balloon.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Maya Rudolph is Minnie Riperton's daughter.

Ack. I knew it didn't look right (who would spell Hayden that way?), but I was too lazy to check it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Completely random question:
