That's Haden, not Hayden.
Ack. I knew it didn't look right (who would spell Hayden that way?), but I was too lazy to check it.
'Lineage'
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Completely random question:
Best '60s pop use of sitar - "Mother's Little Helper"?
I'm making some playlists to burn for mac, one calm sort of lullabies not only for babies and one upbeat.
I have an hour of calm so far and getting close to 3 hours of upbeat. If you have some favorites for kids, I'd love suggestions.
I am trying to avoid strictly "kids" music, but am also avoiding adult language and situations.
I love the Muppets, as a grown-up, but some people are skeptical of my maturity.
BNL has some really good stuff.
I've really taken to some Canadian folk-rock (I don't know how it happened), and you might look at Great Big Sea (they have a Canadian Ghost Pirate song; they win, in my book)

No! Ananda Shankar's cover of "Jumpin' Jack Flash"! or possibly Lord Sitar's cover of the Who's "I Can See For Miles"
This is actually a whole category of discussion amongst Now Sound fans. But Ananda Shankar's cover has the advantage of electric sitar and a Moog on the same track.
If you have some favorites for kids, I'd love suggestions.
Emmett loved Kristen Hersh's version of "Whole Heap of Little Horses" (aka "All the Pretty Horses"). Very quiet and mellow, and minor key melody.
For years I put him to bed to Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. It works very well for that. At xmas time we play Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Christmas for bedtime music.
I have Linus and Lucy on the upbeat mix at the moment.
I kinda hope that from listening to the mixes while overseas I can get a feel for where his likes lean.
Kinda of Blue will def go on the calm mix.
From my last kids mix - almost all upbeat:
"Hoodoo Voodoo" from Mermaid Ave. I
"Cluck Old Hen" Alison Krause and Union Station
"Birthday" the Beatles
"Froggie Went a Courtin'" Bruce Springsteen
"Blackbird" CSN&Y
"ABC" Jackson 5
"Penguins" Lyle Lovett
Lots of Woody Guthrie - pretty much all of his wonderful 'kids' album,
Nursery Days,
particularly:
"Race You Down the Mountain"
"Dance Around"
"Bubble Gum"
And especially "Riding in My Car (the car song)"

No, I'm thinking of songs that are not covers. Just because.
I guess I'm thinking of songs with sitars that became hits/popular in their own right, not because they were covers of already popular songs.
Here's one of Li'l Sphere's naptime mixes.
