I heard Batman's voice in my head when I read this, and cannot explain just how funny that was to me.
Just out of curiosity, is this your ideal Batman voice, or one of the movie/tv ones?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I hear the Tick when the words Constant vigilance were used.
I have a huge list of stuff I wanted to do today. But the sinus fairy hit me in the face with a baseball bat. 1 giant latte and one cup of coffe later and that is gone - but I think it would take six pots of coffe to get me beyond the 'huh' stage.

Not that I'd thought about it until now, but it's definitely Adam West. Though I'm getting interference from the picture of Superman (as Steve Reeve) standing in front of Robin (Burt Ward, natch) and yelling this at Batman.
My mental Batman sounds like Kevin Conroy. I'm pretty sure. Early imprinting.
Not if gay is something that straight people can choose to be. Like how my blonde hair is more of a choice than not bleaching it is.
you know, the whole choice/not a choice thing? Irritating as all shit because both groups have the wrong end of the stick.
I get disappointed with the gay community running around saying, "It's biological. It's not a choice." Because the implication is that if gays could CHOOSE something, they would choose to be straight. But the it's-out-of-our-hands/biology or god made us this way excuse is just lame. In some ways, it's an insult to the people we love.
I choose Lori because she's an amazing, intelligent, funny, caring, capable, sexy, dynamic person. I choose to be in a relationship with her. I choose to love her. Love can be a choice.
And the It's-an-abomination people? Whatever. So is our current president, the war in Iraq, poverty, lack of education and a thousand other things. Frankly, I think golf is an abomination too, but if that's what you want to do, who am I to stop you?
We love what the soft animal part of us loves (to paraphrase Mary Oliver) and the abomination people? They need to get over it because they don't get to dictate that part of anyone but themselves.
Grrr...

I choose to love her. Love can be a choice.
Right the fuck ON!
Love can also build a bridge.
Love can do lots.

I miss this feeling.

I do know gay guys (happy being gay) who are clear on if they'd had to choose, this wouldn't have been it. But it's not a regretful thing -- just that if there's an "easy" way open to you, why not do that?
As for "it's not a choice" to me - it's just as implacable to me as my gender or my race. I don't regret either of them, and even with the "easy choice" option, I wouldn't bother, other than out of curiosity, trying to be a guy or white. I'm a black woman. It wasn't a choice.
I choose to love her. Love can be a choice.
But it's not a choice everyone can make. Rupaul can't, and, say, Katie Holmes can't. And still be true to themselves.
I actually think love is always a choice. I'm not talking about (or at least not exclusively) the sexual attraction component of love. Actually loving someone in a meaningful way (which is more about your own actions than the warm fuzzies the person inspires in you) is a choice, and a decision, and it is the actions/treatment that counts.
