Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

Okay -- I need to check the library system for The Constant Gardener and Brokeback Mountain, it seems.

Close Range: Wyoming Stories (the collection that contains "Brokeback Mountain") is kind of hard to track down in the libraries, but there's not an urgent need as the story in its entirety is available here.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

What perfectly normal sized hands you have, msbelle.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Actually, there's a copy at my local library right now. Hmm. Between you and sarameg, you're giving me an excuse not to patronise my fine local establishment.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I could use some cookies, thanks!

oh crap.

There's a fire in the hollywood hills. Ashes are falling in our back yard and everything smells burnt. It's not especially close to us.

Do we close the windows or leave them open?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'd close them and run AC if you need to.

Yikes.

Yeah. It's just west of the 101, between Cahuenga and Laurel Canyon on the other side of the hill.

Okay, going to close windows. I just don't want our house to smell smokey.
