He goes to some lengths in the article to talk about how straight he is. (After QaF and being mentored in theatre by Daniel McIvor and Ken McDougall, maybe he was having trouble getting dates.) Who knew?

Sigh. I suppose I shouldn't automatically bristle upon hearing that, given that Fab is fairly young and just starting his career. But I wish QaF would cast some straight actors that didn't study at Kerr Smith's No, Really, I Promise I'm 100% Real Man School of Public Relations. Couldn't someone just say "nah, I'm not really gay, just an actor. Next question?"

What's a shame is that Filipo was obviously comfortable enough with the part to do a great job of it when the cameras were rolling, and had great role models for how to handle the press in Gale Harold, Scott Lowell, Thea Gill, and Michelle Clunie. Maybe having his Buffy character outed in absentia made him a bit oversensitive about the issue?
