Marti's emotional stuff really resonates. Her MotW stuff is not so great. That's a MotW that doesn't do anything for me, but I love the Scooby interaction in that episode (even though I want to put everyone but Cordelia, and possibly Oz, up against a wall and slap them when they're so hard on Buffy).

Buffy 4: Grr. Arrgh.
This is where we talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No spoilers though?if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. This thread is NO LONGER NAFDA. Please don't discuss current Angel events here.
"Buffy didn't really die in Prophecy Girl, either -- otherwise Baywatch is chasing Minear in the body count. I never really took Buffy's "death" seriously until I saw all the episodes that treated it as a fact of canon."
This has a Princess Bride flair about it, doesn't it? Mostly dead? :) I think that Buffy's misfortune in the S1 finale barely met the threshold -- but did indeed meet it -- for the next Slayer to be called. Hence we get Kendra and my oft-fanwanked Crisis of the Slayer Succession.
For what it's worth, I think Buffy has died four times: 1. S1 -- Prophecy Girl 2. S5 -- The Gift, when she hurls herself into the gate 3. S6 -- When Warren shot her and Dark!Willow removes the bullet 4. S7 -- Chosen, when she was stabbed from behind and collapses to the ground. I think she died a little there too, but briefly.
Is that one time too much? Or two?
I'm catching up on a couple weeks of this thread, so here's where I get to say that I'd be willing to sacrifice Angel and Firefly for 4 or 5 seasons of great Buffy with Joss' head exploding at the end. I mean, I'll take what I can get, but them's my druthers. Greenwalt stays too.
I still blame Greenwalt for the mess that became Cordelia.
Though I think I still owe him a mental fruitbasket for the Wes stuff in Tomorrow. (So glad obsession trump ascension for me in that ep.)
But, I wouldn't give up the three and a half enjoyable seasons of Angel I've had for more Joss-y Buffy, and I wouldn't give up my 13 episodes of Firefly for the world.
I want to put everyone but Cordelia, and possibly Oz, up against a wall and slap them when they're so hard on Buffy
So glad to know I'm not the only one. My TV would be in shards if I have a gun whenever that ep airs.
Towards the end of season 7, I honestly felt like the writers themselves didn't like the character of Buffy anymore, and it showed.
Yes, this. Cause they were all 'okay, we'll show her kicking butt instead of being depressed', and then they do Speech!Buffy. It honestly feels like they didn't even remember how to make her likable.
I want to put everyone but Cordelia, and possibly Oz, up against a wall and slap them when they're so hard on Buffy.
Yes! I have this whole rant I go though every time Xander says, 'So, your honey was a demon. Most girls don't jump the Greyhound bus over boy troubles.'
Grrrr! I just want to kill him. Actually Xander was weirdly unlikable for the first couple of season 3 eps. The bit in Call of the Wild where he just goes to sleep, without even trying to watch Oz, for example.
I could never justify the sacrafice of Angel and Firefly for all Joss all the time.
I need my fill of Jane E. and Goddard. Hell even Fury.
Everyone always ranks their favorite Buffy seasons here, I think I am gonna try ranking all ME shows from my favorite on.
Here goes nothing BS4, AS4, FF, AS3, BS2, BS7, AS2, BS6, AS1, BS5, BS3, BS1
Anyone follow that because I just confused myself.
Hell even Fury.
sniffle
That's my man.
Oh nothing against him. In fact I love his episodes, probably his Angel ones over his Buffy ones, same goes for DeKnight times 2 with the Angel over Buffy episodes.
I just loveth Jane E. and Goddard more. Without them I don't know where the Buffyverse would have been the last 4 seasons. Fury was just lower on my list than those 2.
Hell I somehow forgot Minear....how could we have ever been killed...er I mean lived without Tim?
Tim and Jane are the two I think I'm really going to miss from Mutant Enemy efforts.
I was delighted to see Jane's touch on The O.C. Made me remenber that I liked her work.
I'm still sad at the idea of Angel without Tim. I'd prefer a Jossless Angel (isn't that what we pretty much had, anyway?), than a Timless one.
