No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

I actually went back and looked at some of my first posts on TT, and god was I annoying. I sounded so... thirteen. And I think my sister was rude to Betsy.

Wow, that was all the way back in TT Buffy 1. Your sister Jeri was 9... It's kind of funny.

Holli: Jeri can be Board Baby, if I don't kill her first. Sibling rivalry can be an ugly thing, I know, but what can ya do?

Jim L. Baird: In cyberspace, no one can hear you scream, "Mom! She's touchin' me!"

Y'all and Joss turned me into the moderately social-skilled person I am today.

I can definitely see our influence on your style. But you guys weren't that annoying. I would be charmed if someone like you two dropped into the thread today. (I don't care about protecting young minds.) How did you find Table Talk?

Be fun to sneak the tapes back in time with me and show them to myself then and see what I thought. Except, you know, then I'd be spoiled for all kinds of culturally reference-y things.

You'd be going around saying "5 by 5" for years, waiting for the slang to catch on. You would have a heads-up on John Tesh being the Devil, however.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

And I think my sister was rude to Betsy.

God, I remember that.

Re - eps to convert. Out of Sight, Out of Mind . No question. It sums up everything great about the show, needs no intro, and is generally ace.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

My rating would probably be S3,S4,S2,S1,S7,S6.

So, season 5 is right out then? This is pretty much my order (except 1 might go after 6, but it's close behind), with 5 bringing up the rear.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Zeppo is on FX right now.

And they cut the line "Occasionally, I'm callous and strange." Curses on them.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

I caught that, too. Pissed me right off.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Ken is my brother in ranking S5 last in terms of favorite seasons. My ranking goes: S3, S2/S6 (I go back and forth), S4, S1, and S5 way in the back.

The funny thing is that I got to Buffy through the Buffistas on TT. I started reading y'all before I even started watching the show. Then I got a break in my work schedule just at the right time to let me start watching repeats of S3 every day. I got hooked watching S3 repeats in Spanish. (You haven't lived until you've heard Angel dubbed into Spanish) Then I got cable, got S3 repeats in English every day and got brand spanking new S4 and that was it. I didn't see S1/2 until much later. In fact, only this year have I seen all of the S1 episodes.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

I think I found the Buffy thread through a Joyce Millman article.

Actually, before we were really Buffistas, I hung out in the Book Sluts and Literary Lounge Lizards thread. And during my last year of summer camp, a bunch of people from that thread sent me postcards. I had the best-decorated bunk of *anyone.*

God, I was a dork. At least now I've upgraded to geek.
