I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Supportive honking has been achieved; the crowd was smaller than last time, but they were enthusiastic. A few inflatable frogs and unicorns, who were big hits with the kids. I'm looking forward to seeing crowd shots from Oakland and SF; word of mouth was that a lot of folks went to the bigger events, which might help explain the decrease here.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I already had other plans with my sister. She sort of wondered aloud about going, but in the end we just drove by one of the local groups and made supportive noises and gestures. Still, my formerly Republican sister even thinking about going to one of these is a huge step. As we drove by she commented on how many older people there were, and how considerate people were being of the ones with walkers. I think if there’s a third one, I might be able to get her to go with me. Otherwise, I’ll just go myself. But not knowing anyone there makes it a little intimidating for me. There were probably 300 people in the one we passed, and we were not in a major city.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Pretty impressive, Calli!

Forgot about the “goths for Prop 50” (the redistricting thing) spotted as we were leaving. Very well dressed.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

The Oakland march was really big, bigger than last time. I went with my BIL and a friend, and we saw a bunch of inflatable animals and lots of cool signs. There was one guy, an older man in a suit, who stood on the side of the march with a megaphone and a sign that said "EVERYTHING IS FINE", and tried to "pay off" people to stop marching with fake $100 bills. Pretty entertaining.

I had an Andor-themed sign: on one side it said "This is what a reckoning sounds like" and the other side it said "I have friends everywhere". Got a bunch of recognition for that, because the Indivisible folks have been playing up the Andor connection as well.

It was hella warm and my BIL and I didn't stick around for the rally afterwards, we just walked up to the nearest Transbay bus stop and went home. Between the march and my dog-walk in the morning I got 14,000 steps today.
