A year and a half ago, I could have eviscerated him with my thoughts. Now I can barely hurt his feelings. Things used to be so much simpler.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Welcome, Friday!

After two gloriously sunny and summery days it's back to fogged in hard. Boo! Oh well, my scarf collection is getting a workout.

I have noon pilates and then my weekend begins, with socializing beginning at 3pm with my friend Michelle (back from international summer travels with her family).

I've had JZ's Cousin!Nicole visiting this week taking refuge from the blistering Sacramento heat. She's been here often enough that we have a routine, and it's very low key. Mostly we get together in the evening to watch something. This week we watched Wednesday and then stayed Burton-esque with the Johnny Depp Dark Shadows.

What's everybody doing for fun this weekend? I am continuing to clean house and put things in storage now that Matilda has gone to college. Clearing decks as it were.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

What's everybody doing for fun this weekend?

Our wings are not tired.

Whirlwind trip to NY. I arrived here at 2:30 this morning and will return to the airport at 9:00 tomorrow morning. Then in FL for another week, tying up loose ends and so forth. So far, two loads of laundry, picked up grocery order, got my nails done (after rescheduling the appointment 3 times previously), and did a bunch of stuff to prep for my SIL and BF to be here visiting (previously scheduled) while I am in FL. I've given my son lists, and he is slowly doing chores too. Next is filling pill containers and packing again, after I empty the suitcase which is still sitting next to me.

The dog was a pain while I was gone. He usually sleeps in my bedroom, but he wouldn't while I wasn't there, and he would just pace in front of Brendon's room and not go in. B ended up sleeping on the couch so Skinner would sleep in his bed downstairs. We'll see if he sleeps in the room with SIL while I am gone again.

I am going to a fish fry tonight with my sister and son because I haven't done that this year, and we don't have the same tradition in Florida as they do here on Fridays. I don't do fried fish, but they also serve broiled. And I am not cooking on my brief stay!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I need to clean this weekend, although that might not actually happen.

I think I will go see Boys Go to Jupiter at some point.

Always Anti-fascist!

Finding myself wishing fun were a bit less of a foreign concept, even if I didn't plan to hit the ground running(sic) for a Mandami phonebank tomorrow--it will be normal time in New York, but early for myself in Satan's armpit. I actually started a series of writing craft lectures I really do like, but even that's a bit...diligent to be true *fun* right? I think so.
