this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

On Wednesday, Tim has a surgical procedure that I think is, best-case, meant to remove all the cancerous tissue. Because it's located around where his left tonsil used to be (he had his tonsils out as a kid, but the ENT says that it's not unusual for there to be some residual tonsillar tissue left), he's having the equivalent of a sort-of tonsillectomy.

The way this relates to the yogurt conversation is that he'll need soft food for a few-several days afterward, so the top shelf of our fridge is loaded up with lower-sugar blueberry, peach, vanilla, and strawberry yogurts.

So...I have been reading behind and nodding along, but now I am here to thank you all for the heads up on Chobani lower sugar and to report that there was PLENTY of lower-sugar lemon yogurt at my supermarket and I'm looking forward to trying it.

Here to report that after a hard-target search I too have achieved Chobani Less Sugar Lemon (among other flavors).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh Steph, I really hope they can get it all!!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Every time I have to get a follow-up procedure to remove a carcinoma or melanoma the surgeon always says, "Cancer's all gone!" after the procedure.

Which is mildly disturbing because I'm busy being in denial about it being cancer, but at the same time I appreciate the definitive statement and finality of it.

So, that's what I'm hoping Tim hears.

Also, I'm definitely having yogurt for breakfast. Our next F2F will clearly need a yogurt bar set up.

I am now giving the stink eye to our Kroger stores that don't have Chobani Less Sugar Lemon. This is ruining my assertion that we have food in Ohio year-round!

Oh Steph, I really hope they can get it all!!

That's the hope. I am sending out the Nunsignal again (or if you prefer a LotR reference, I am lighting the Nun Beacons) for extra-strength prayers that the surgery can remove all the cancerous tissue.

Even if the surgery does remove it all, I think Tim may still have radiation to reduce the risk of recurrence. But we won't know that until next week, when we meet with the oncology team.

If it makes you feel any better, I had to walk 4 miles to get it, and, because I live in San Francisco, it was uphill both ways.

Sending SF vibes that Tim's surgery has the best of possible outcomes.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Get-it-all~ma!

Went to Art in the Park with my parents today, which was a good time. Might be the first one since pausing in 2020, I certainly haven’t been to one in a while, and the weather was great, attendance seemed high, I was able to get a little purse and a couple of small prints (Godzilla rampaging through Martinez, and another full of highly local iconography that is harder to succinctly describe) and some cute earrings. My dad won one silent auction (for more earrings for my mom, made by a friend of theirs) and I failed to talk them into buying a large oil painting of the sun setting behind Mt Tamalpais that captured the light *so* gorgeously (I was not trying all that hard, I know they have no space left on their walls, but it was really pretty)
