We had cicadas in NC, but I haven’t heard them here in MI. Lots of fireflies though.
Taking care terminally ill loved ones is so hard. Dad was furious at his father for remarrying so soon after grandma died, and to her worst rival, to boot. But she took such good care of grandpa at the end, and we were hundreds of miles away. So we ended up very grateful to her (albeit grudgingly, in Dad’s case).
I’m sorry your life’s gotten so canceriffic, Steph. But I’m glad about the good news on the viral front.
I’m starting my second full week of being unemployed. Can’t say I’m a fan. I have had about a 10% interview-to-application return, which is pretty good. And three of the outstanding applications look like they’d would be really cool jobs. (Two remote and one in Ann Arbor—I’d definitely have to check in with our Ypsilanti Empress if that came through.) So any spare job~ma would be appreciated, please.
That is a great return rate. Good luck with it all, Calli!!
Pulling for the cool jobs, Calli. And a 10% hit rate is very encouraging. Job ~ma your way!
Wow that’s a pretty good return on submissions Calli!
I woke up wrecked with migraine. It’s supposed to be 91 here today. I don’t want to do today. Can we start over?
Ugh, that's an ugly combination of migraine and temperature
Some happy news here:
Mac has registered for 2 classes at a local community college. It’s been over 3 years since school was even mildly attempted.
The really good part of this good news is that he did the application, placement testing, meeting with advisors, registration…all on his own.
I just have to figure out payment/reimbursement from the 529 and it looks like I can get paid some for rent/food/utilities if he takes at least 2 classes.
He is still hoping to find part time work, but it has to be something mostly off his feet and he does not yet have office skills.
That sounds very good, msbelle!
msbelle, that's great news!
