Thank you, all. This year I have low energy to plan or do anything, and it really does feel out of place to celebrate anything, but I went with a few friends for a dinner yesterday and it was really nice. And yet, I do not wish for a single moment to sit back and reflect on the mostly horrible year that we're having here politically, or that I've had personally. I'm focusing on relocation and finding a job abroad in order to do so, and after that maybe I'll be able to sit back and reflect on the past two and a half years.
Better times will come, but we still have a war to stop. I sure hope it could have been easier or faster, but it is not easy nor fast to stop a blood spiral, especially a kind of a spiral with the logic that more death/dehumanization is the answer to previous death/dehumanization. And I hear that you in the US are not having easy times (politically) as well - I'm sorry about that.
Much ~ma to everyone here, and extra health~ma to Tim and to sj's stepdad.
I'm glad you were able to enjoy some time with friends, Shir. Both of our governments are horrific, and I don't see any changes at the top happening anytime soon. Sending the ~ma for you to find the perfect place to relocate and get some stress relief.
Happy birthday, Shir. Best of luck in finding a good new location.
Love and birthday wishes to you, Shir.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Shir!
Yesterday was our 21st anniversary. We exchanged cards and gifts, but that was the extant of the celebrations.
Yesterday was also the "official" birthday of the kitties, who are no longer considered kittens.
Healing ~ma to Tim.
My knee is back to what passes for normal for me. I stopped wearing the brace Tuesday and finished the prescription ibuprofen yesterday.
Such a beautiful, pleasant day in the DC region today. I've spent a good portion just lying on the porch loveseat thing under an umbrella listening to birds and neighborhood sounds. So relaxing.
Oh, yes, happy birthday. Glad you had a good time with your friends.
I used to wonder, in high school and college, before everything in the Middle East got so stark and one-sided, how people did, you know, all their other stuff with all of that in the background.
sadly, I think we're finding out and it SUCKS.
So not a fan.
