The status is NOT quo.

DAMN. I'm so sorry, Tep. I know it's limited comfort, but I'm going to hang on tight to the stats and hope treatment is as painless and easy as possible with a full remission on the other side.

Not javachik

So sorry about Tim. Yay for treatable options.

Laura, your condo memo/proofreading reminds me of antique china in a museum somewhere, probably British but made in China, that would come back from sample editing with corrections and changes carefully rendered into the final manufacturing process.

In following along info, I stumbled into what looks like a good spreadsheet + analysis of zeptide etc. program availability at [link]

Two friends had Covid last week, and my neighbor's friend had it also. So I got my booster yesterday. I walked in to a CVS to ask for a walk-in shot, was told it was not possible, declined making an appt tomorrow. Then, while in the bathroom before leaving, was looking for the pharmacy closer to the farmer's market the next day and discovered that ALL appointments at the CVS near the hardware store where I was that very minute were open. So I booked the one in 10 minutes, and THEN they gave me the shot. The heck? Oh well. My arm is swollen, which I keep forgetting until I touch it. Otherwise feel fine and am so happy to have blood cells doing their immune-creating thing. Yay science.

I have found that the older I get, the more cost boundaries I'm not willing to cross on principle. Like, there are only so many dollars' worth of enjoyment I will get out of a great crab cake, so, no, I'm not going to pay $40 if that's your MP is today, restaurant -- but they don't usually like to negotiate that sort of thing. So, $190 for a bottle of wine is a no-go for me. I'd be happy to drink it, and it might be wonderful, but it would have to be on someone else's dime. And the boundaries (I always forget the "a" in that word) aren't really based on my disposable income at any particular moment, it's just like, nope that just pings my "too much" meter for that item.

But, to all the connoisseurs of crab cakes, wine, and the like... I salute you and your right to spend lavishly if it brings you joy. I'm sure I have things where price is no object, though I can't think of one right now. I'm also pretty sure I'm not in a position to take that stance with any real follow through at the moment, more's the pity.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Damn, Tep. I'm so sorry. Wishing tons of health~ma to Tim. I'm glad it seems to be highly treatable.

Stepdad is still in the hospital, but I didn't have any childcare help today. So, I spent the day spoiling ltc, which was very much needed after this week. We slept in, bought books at the library bookstore, and then had some yummy gelato. Now, I'm waiting for my therapist to send me my appointment link so that I can have my also very needed therapy session.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay books and gelato! I hope the therapist gets that to you soon!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I got x-rays and the results are already back and show moderate osteoarthritis in my right hip, which can apparently fuck up my quad muscle because the pain will travel to the quad muscles and also if my gait was weird due to hip pain, that would add extra pain.

So I have a referral to PT for that, and I’m going to start taking Zepbound because extra weight on my hip isn’t doing the hip any favors. Our insurance still refuses to cover GLP-1 meds for weight loss, so I'm looking at Lilly Direct, which lets your doctor send the Rx to them and the patient pays $350-$500 a month, which is more than I would like, but less than if I just had to pay fully out of pocket.

Oddly, my left hip is absolutely fine, not even minor osteoarthritis.

JenP, yes to all of that!

High-five!

Books and Gelato sound awesome.

And.may PT do its thing, Steph.
