May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Our wings are not tired.

I don't buy gas, but I do a lot of grocery shopping. I really need to take the time to list my cards and see which ones do what. My physician customers pay me with cards to rack up miles. I don't fly enough for that to matter to me.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I have accomplished a lot today, except for work. I had therapy, went to the bookstore (it is so dangerous to have a bookstore in my neighborhood), went to the CVS, went to the grocery store, gassed up the car, did a load of towels, made the bed, washed the dishes, and baked a batch of egg bites and a batch of chocolate chip muffins for a friend who had knee replacement surgery today. Now I am icing my left hand and idly considering a cocktail.

Ooh, gold star day for you. Nice!

I... took the cats to the vet, washed the dog's bedding, and made an appointment for a job interview next week (different job from the recruiter call on Friday -- this one is with the actual person to whom I would report, so that's something. Just preliminary, though, via Zoom.) No word back from the Friday recruiter yet. Oddly, both are similar jobs and sort of different from previous jobs. Must be a constellation of experience or something. Good to know!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds like a very good day! I am not sure whether I am jealous of having a bookstore in the neighborhood or relieved that I do not. Although when we first moved here there was a little used bookstore within walking distance and I was *very* excited about that! But they went online only and then completely closed not long after we arrived. Sad.

There is a bookstore just a few blocks from work and I still have not made it there. When I'm at work, or leaving work, I'm either too busy or too tired for checking out a bookstore to be feasible. I tried to go on a Saturday once but there was other stuff going on in the area and parking was too hard to come by. They are assigned to get the benefit when I buy audiobooks from Libro, though. I just assume that if I ever actually visited I would like them enough for that. I have a different indy bookstore in another town that's on the way to my parents' house that gets the benefit of my Bookshop e-book purchases. I have been to that one, and it's cool, Still a little too far away for me to just drop in for no reason, sadly. All that is right near here is a Barnes and Noble that I honestly forget is there most of the time and it's a short drive but too far to walk and the bus would require a transfer so would take a long time. The library could be walking distance if I wanted to spend enough time walking...

(eta that was Teppy's t]day I was responding to but Jen's day sounds very good too! Yay interview!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hopefully I'll one day make a habit of browsing through B&N and local bookstores again. Right now I'm trying to retrain my brain by reading short story collections from the library. Quick video clips on YouTube have drastically reduced my attention span for entertainment at home and I'd like to reclaim it (though I can at least still focus when I see movies at the theater).
