Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration

Feeling that this morning. I have a stupid meeting in 5 minutes and I DO NOT WANNA!
I am oft put to mind of Matt Groening's line from Work is Hell which succinctly summed the whole issue: "They made me do stuff I didn't particularly want to do!"
That sounds like a lovely bunch of reconnections, Trudy.
This wedding was a bit like that though most of the people I have known somewhat shallowly but over a long period of time. That is, I only knew them as they connected to the bride's family, but since I went to a lot of social events by the bride's family going back 40 years, I've seen their kids grow up and them grow gray etc.
My favorite part was hanging out with Emmett and Maggie the girl, who were reminiscing sweetly about their childhoods. Maggie has two children now (both adorable, of course) and will be turning 31 soon. Emmett turns 29 on his next birthday.
Matilda and I got in after midnight but I had to get up early this morning for my monthly Ozempic check in. Officially down 20 lbs, and we're staying at this dosage level since it's still effective. And I'm glad of it because every time I titrate up it makes me extra queasy for a few days.
I wish I could take the rest of the day off, but I have to take Cousin Nikki to the East Bay for her train home, and then I have Pilates at 4:30.

I have this Reductress headline (from the page-a-day calendar) pinned above my desk. It is never not true!
David I'm so sorry about Lola and Isabella.
I hate cancer.
I had my appointment with the GI doctor. No answers, obviously, he seemed perplexed. But he ordered more tests a plain X-ray and an endoscopy and he prescribed some kind of medicine that should help with stomach cramps... Or muscle to contractions or something.
And he advised I try a FODMAP diet. The nurse who have me the actual info suggested I pick one or two categories to eliminate first instead of all of them. I was reading over the list of foods to avoid and M was like "that's most of what we eat!".
Right now we are at the comic book store and after this we are going to the used bookstore so a pretty good day off. Except for the stomach discomfort.
And for whatever reason Scrappy the cat has been super affectionate lately so I've gotten plenty of kitty snuggles and pettings. Penny has been less cuddly and wanting attention, but she gets like that. And Bingo the dog has been renamed Mongo and he is ok. Except M's mom isn't great about letting him out when he barks (he needs to relieve himself) nor is she great about changing the puppy pads immediately. As much as Mongo is a good boy he really needs a better home.
This debate I have with myself every Tuesday as to whether it will be easier to bring all my stuff home and WFH tomorrow or leave my stuff here and come into the office is harder to resolve than it should be
Thanks for the reassurance, Epic!

Scrappy knows you aren't feeling well. When I am sick, Scully is all over me.
