That’s great about your DH’s new job, Jen!!!
I’ve hired my cousin’s brother-in-law, who has just started his own landscaping business, to take care of our backyard jungle and, dag, it is money well spent!!

DH appreciates all the well-wishes!
I have one more adjustment to braces in June, and then the next appointment should be to get them off, so, like, mid-August. Yay!
I forgot it was Memorial Day weekend. Anyone have any long weekend special plans?
Very cool, lisah! I am hoping to someday have the disposable income to hire someone to take that stuff off my plate
I keep forgetting Monday is a holiday. It feels very early in the month for Memorial Day, the 26th
OMG I'm in Manhattan! But I'm at work so I bet you're having more fun.
Medium fun so far. Mostly sleeping since we had to get up at 3:30am for our flight and then with the extra delays and catching rush hour into the city.
We had a pretty mediocre dinner last night but we have our first event of the wedding tonight so that'll be fun. I need to wake Matilda from her nap because it takes at least two hours for her to get her hair to its presentational state.
Matilda's observation about Manhattan style: "Everybody dresses the same." I amended that you will find some of the most stylish people in the world here, but yes, there is a kind of neutral, professional style widely adopted as the default.

Attending a wedding in Queens!
It will be at the Badonkadonk House!

"Everybody dresses the same."
The people in Ridgewood will be dressed differently than the people in Manhattan.
If you have time and if Matilda isn't too Japan-ed out, Kinokuyina is always worth a visit.
Hope y'all are well rested and way above mediocre for the rest of the weekend, Hec!
I have no work ethic today. Very checked out. Cat is crawling onto my chest and I'm just, okay? This is what we are doing now?

Same difference.
I had a pecan bun for breakfast and it was delightful but too much sugar and I have crashed. Doh.
Hil, I see what you mean about "Special"--I mean that guy is so out of touch with himself, it's like, an Issue, and it's fine to write about that, I guess, acceptance isn't comedy. But I don't think the show should say it's okay.(It also reminds me that my grandma used to tell me that I could tell people I slipped in the bathtub. Because I am a Buffista, I got a little invested in being Ms. Knowledge, I think, and probably found it novel to know things other folks didn't. Grandma had a point that I could have used, even though in her case there was some denial there--I really didn't have to teach the lesson, every time. I wish I hadn't. Not that I would be their friend as Slipped in The Bathtub--people ask because they're bored, not to get to know you. (And, not, Norman Lear, may your memory be a blessing, to Learn Something Valuable.) Even though still don't really understand why Bathtub Klutz is light-years easier to talk to. (Although I doubt that I'd do the bathtub thing, on the rare occasions when it comes up now, I just say there was an accident when I was born..) I also have to call bullshit on the depictions of money. Everybody doesn't get "CP money" and so it probably took them years of legal wrangling unless Mom got delivered by a doctor who was drunk or some shit like that(Ryan probably wouldn't remember most of that, so it's consistent for him to be naive about it, but it doesn't make sense that Mom would say "Sure, hon, whatever you want," when he uses it, given that.
