Guys. Husband signed an offer letter on Monday that was contingent on several years' contract coming through to the company... and he just found out it did! OMG. Relief doesn't even describe it. He starts in a week.
Excellent!

Excellent!
Congrats, JenP! Relieved for y'all to have that come through!
That is weird, Matt. A know a guy who did his mission somewhere that was primarily Spanish speaking but "tracking down" Spanish speakers does seem deeply sus. Could be sketchy missionary, could be ICE or someone less official trying to look relatively benign.
Yay Jen!
I'm pretty sure this guy wasn't a Proud Boy, he looked like a Mormon missionary and was polite. But the way ICE is currently being run I wouldn't put it past them to recruit preppy Aryan-looking College Republicans and put them in dress shirts and backpacks to avoid tipping people off while they search door-to-door for Latino households.
missionaries do that, I think, but this doesn't feel like a good time to be all "You want the Garcias down the street."(Also, I wouldn't sic missionaries on someone either...I've talked to too many.)
Oh, wait, just one guy? I feel like Mormon missionaries always come in pairs.
Timelies all!
Heading up to Baltimore for Balticon tomorrow. Should be fun.
Happy Birthday Java Cat!
Have fun storming the Balticon, Sheryl!

Well, "generally," yes. [link]
Typically, missionaries work in pairs, called companionships. Sometimes there are more than two missionaries in a companionship but never fewer. And they’re not just companions—they’re roommates too. Companionships exist so missionaries can look out for each other. After all, most missionaries are working in places far from home. Their parents rest easier knowing they’re not out there alone.
Happy birthday, Java Cat!
Congrats to your DH, JenP! I’ll be happy to take that half dose of job~ma, as I was offered a “voluntary” severance deal late last week. I don’t have to decide until July, but I’ve already sent out seven job applications, had one interview, and got turned down for a different position.
Oh that sucks Calli. But I hope something awesome pops up right away.
