That is probably my forgot-to-eat-lunch despair talking. Having some chicken soup to hopefully improve outlook

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
OK, I just put this together, but mr lisah is Chicago Bob, isn’t he? He’s practically the pope, right? We should be able to get some dispensations or something out of this.
Do my posts improve after the application of soup? You be the judge.
He is, -t!! The new pope is Other Chicago Bob!
Love it!
Omg love New Pope Other Chicago Bob!
Trivia team was v diminished tonight (just 3 of us) but we persevered and came in 4th but kicked ourselves for not getting the Connections round (garden, cheese, pong, bong, hall) even though we knew 3 and guessed a 4th. answer: words that go with beer
Are those the clues or the answers? Not getting Connections is very frustrating - it either seems like it should have been obvious once you know the answer or it seems like no one could have gotten it, what were they thinking. I assume the connections round of trivia would be the same.
Connections is often a struggle, but when not just a struggle, it is either quick and obvious to me, or utterly impossible. My longest streak was 10 in 233 games played. Granted, some streaks were broken when I was sick or traveling.
Lisah, that is terrifying. Glad she is on the mend.
Mom and I were supposed to head out to a friend's place in the Hamptons for what is likely her last Mothers Day. Alas, she's on a course of meds that are causing... purging... so a road trip was out of the question.
We opted for a picnic in the park. We ate fruit and pastries in the shadow of the GWB. The music was playing, the sun was shining, there was a group of old guys in a very heated dominoes match. It was lovely. Know that park sequence in In The Heights? Its basically a documentary.
Then I brought her home, got some roses, and gave her an Ancestry .com subscription as a present. It was a successfully pleasant day.
Those were the answers to various unrelated questions (ie “last name of the mascot whose full name is Charles Entertainment…” (cheese) and “name of the director of the first foreign language film to win best Oscar, in 2019” (Bong)) and then you’re supposed to figure out what they have in common and get points for figuring that out also. Sometimes if you can figure out what they have in common it helps—like we guessed “space invaders” for the video game but also thought of “pong” and if we’d realized the theme was “beer ___” we would’ve gone with pong!
That sounds like a lovely day, Trudy.
I would surely suck at Trivia. I may come up with answers, but I rarely do so quickly.
