Illyria: Wesley's dead. I'm feeling grief for him. I can't seem to control it. I wish to do more violence. Spike: Well, wishes just happen to be horses today.

Sorry, that was road trip with DH reflex, if you see a Waffle House sign you sing out. Kinda like how when you see cows you say “Cows!”

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The only time I've been to Waffle House was with Ginger and Emmett, when I took him through the South for my Dad's memorial. Ginger put us up overnight. I got to see her Science Fiction art collection and meet Mr. Peabody.

The only time I've been to a Durham Bulls game was with Amych on that same visit.

And one of the best homemade pies I've ever had was by Mr. Flea in Athens, GA.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

I had a productive day at work today, met my new therapist (good first impression), bought cat food and butter naan, and did some laundry. I did not, however, get much exercise aside from walking to and from my car more than average.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm having stand mixer urges. Tilt head or bowl lift?

I have lift, and I wish I had tilt. I grew up with tilt. Tilt's just easier all around. But my 1999 KitchenAid is in fine shape, so I suffer with the lift.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I haven’t been to Salon.com in years. I suspect I’m not alone, which may have been the problem. But several years ago they stopped updating frequently, and with less new content there was less incentive to go there. I’m still sad it’s closing down.

I have no position on stand mixers. My current one, inherited from Mom and rarely used, is bowl drop. It seems fine? The rarity of use is due more to limited counter space making baking annoying than anything about the mixer itself.

This morning was a first for me. I got up and went to the gym and it was closed. I checked online and discovered it wouldn’t open for another hour. I didn’t know I could beat the official gym people to the gym. Anyway, my favorite bakery is a block away from the gym, and since I was already in the area, I figured I’d get a maple-nut cinnamon roll for breakfast. Kinda the opposite of my original plan to start my day. Eh, my sister wants to go to a big craft fair this afternoon, so I’ll get steps in either way.

Steph, I hope your vacation is delightful, albeit delayed.

maple-nut cinnamon roll

Oooh, that's some kinda magic trip turning a workout into a cinnamon roll.

I've been sucked into Fancy Jam Land, and now I'm looking at this: [link]

And this: [link]

And I already buy from American Spoon: [link]

ION, I need to plan for Thanksgiving! Dang, it's on me already. Much less xmas presents.
