I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I’m glad you’re feeling good, Sophia! I hope the surgery goes well and recovery is easy and you feel great all the time! Yeesh for your relatives. I’m sure they are trying to help but yeesh.

Woohoo new knee, lisah!

Yay unexpected M meetup!

Mom has had her last in home PT session - she has exercises to do to limber up her hand but she’ll be discharged on Monday. She’ll have weekly sessions at, I think, a clinic for OT starting the following week. I’ve been at my own house since Tuesday but I’m going back to theirs tonight. Got up early to throw a bunch of stuff in a suitcase so I can basically just stay with them until I go to my HS reunion next weekend, we’ll see how that goes.

It is pretty unfair that the "World of Dumplings" fest is happening on a weekend when I am out of town. I am hardly ever anywhere but here!

Punishingly Intricate

It's actually been a really hard year, when you stop and do the math. Eliot would cry, too, if it didn't take him seventy minutes of therapy, two cocktails, and a Sondheim medley before he can experience a human emotion through the haze of his PTSD.

Right on, Lisa! I hope recovery is short and easy and uneventful.

We could recreate a dumpling fest in SF pretty easily.

That would be fun, Hec!

Glad you are home, lisah! Hope recovery is swift and easy

The works of David Simon?

My dad had crowns put in to pretty much his entire upper jaw today, so he's on soft foods for at least a little while. I'm going to make him scrambled eggs for dinner, trying to think of other suitable fare...

That did happen enough that my mother showed me my own letter to the editor with a Simon quote at the bottom, convinced I could make a friend in town.(Given my self-esteem, I 'm not even my own friend, really. But until then, she told me she'd know my work anywhere, when really? Not so much.) There is a woman in the City That Bleeds that had a box of laminated columns though--I couldn't decide whether that was embarrassing or impressive.probably both. I ate a lot of pudding and jello...maybe after a couple days mac and cheese--that was a miserable summer...try not to go without dental coverage
