I had to go to the office yesterday to pick up a newer shredder and have my three month evaluation. My manager is pretty happy with me, so I feel a bit more comfortable updating LinkedIn and whatnot. The drive is 1.5 hours each way, and having to be social and on for dozens strangers for 8 hours was pretty draining. They all seem quite nice, but it’s a lot. On the upside, it was the monthly birthday celebration, so there was cake. On the downside, cake turned into networking? With people discussing golf? One of the auditors is a bit of a silver fox, though, and he sent me a teams message with a grammatical question later, so I guess I made a good impression.

Are you mostly remote, Calli? How often do you have to be in office? 1.5 hours is a long drive.

I managed to pull myself together enough to do some math, which someone probably would prefer to just ask AI about somehow but I haven't been told to do that yet. I think that's it for me to today.
Office has flu shots today. In three weeks we have flu
and
COVID.
My inclination is to wait and get them both at once.
I got my COVID booster right before the new shot for the Fall got approved/released, so my input on when to get what is clearly no use at all. But I got flu and COVID and Hep B all at once and had no side effects, fwtw, not even really sore arms. OTOH, not much gained by waiting on the flu, just less protection meanwhile.
I think I'm doing both next time.
ION, in the dining room we have a guy walking around with one of those Cigarette Girl Trays making mini cannoli. Its about the most brilliant thing I've ever seen. They're amazingly crispy because they're made fresh, they're small so its not a very big cheat at all. I am a big fan of this concept.
So, basically, I left the shot and took the cannoli.

I just added RSV to my next vax appt (Hep B is two doses) so I should be well protected by mid-October. And I am traveling towards the end of October, so it'll probably be good to have preventive measures in place. Feels like a long time since I have traveled, but that's really just by airplane, my epic train month was just a few months ago but feels like ancient history already...
Now I really want a Cannoli Man. Alas, it isn't an option.
