Pronunciation fun, whee! I really liked how they handled that. I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that there’s a character with my name but pronounced not how I say it and that was a bit distracting…

I think I have to start listening to this.
We have been having a Pie Extravaganza at our house. We have a fig tree that has yeilded a lot of figs this year and M has been making fig pie. Using store bought crust but he has made a plain one, 2 with fig jam, one with mandarin oranges cut up with it and I can't remember what he added to the one last night.
They don't last long in the house and I'll be sad when there are no more figs.
I am no longer feeling frustrated and burned out at work. The new overnight team lead is amazing. I haven't met him but I can see a difference. And they switched picking for delivery orders to the responsibility of the drivers. But that hasn't gone well so that is ending. I've had a break from spending most days helping them AND that team has jad less work so they hsve beem helping mine.
And we have a new store manager starting the 5th that everyone seems positive about.
I just have to schedule my vacation
Glad to hear that, askye! Pie extravaganza sounds very exciting and it’s always good when work sucks less
Timelies all!
Posting from the concert room at Worldcon. It’s been a good con so far. Hot as hell outside, but otherwise fun.
Mmmm, pie.
Just got back from an open house with Emmett and his gf Kalena.
Cute place, gorgeous living room with fireplace: [link]
Don't be fooled by the asking price - it will go well over.
It's the whole building so two units, with a tenant on the bottom floor. Big garage, small backyard.
Surrounding neighborhood is very lively with tons of restaurants and markets.
The view out the front window is Golden Gate Park.
Emmett wants it bad, so we'll make a bid on it. Have to talk to my realtor to see where a competitive bid would be. But I have a notion about where it will land.
That is wild David. I can’t imagine.
Askye that’s so good!!
And I, like javachik, often forget if I don’t post you don’t know I’m reading. Which I always am. (…ok wait now that sounds creepy…)
Also, Shir, if you are reading, I am amused how much of an impression you made on my friend Jen when you met her in Seattle—we just traveled together and she mentioned you a couple times! I’d forgotten you even met. (She thought you seemed cool and kind but with good boundaries, apparently)
David, what would happen to his/your old place?
That’s gorgeous, Hec!
it is possible to install a wood burning fireplace after the fact as long as you are okay with a stove type? I had one installed in my den here in CT and love it!!
I’d certainly consider it. But I’m finding way more fireplaces than main floor laundries. Unless you’re lake front (which I can’t afford), pretty much every one around here has a basement, because we’re prone to tornadoes. And I guess once there’s a basement, most people shove the laundry setup there. But, while I haven’t run the numbers, I strongly suspect more senior citizens die from falling down stairs than from tornadoes, and I plan to age in place. So, a unicorn hunting I shall go.
We had my mother-in-law’s laundry facilities up to the main floor from the basement so she could continue living in her home and not need to go to the basement. So, that’s something you might keep in mind as an option, Calli.
