Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place.
Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Ok, that hip flexor sprain? Not as bad as I feared. With strategic use of 600mg ibuprofen every six hours or so, I'm having almost no pain in that thigh at all, even when it's in positions that were literally agonising yesterday.
Thank you, whoever's listening up there. I needed that relief.
Love and hugs and ease~ma to all Buffistas and loved ones who are suffering today. You are all extraordinary humans, and I am extremely fortunate to number all of you among my nearest and dearest.
Buffista love is good, good love. And we're foamy as hell, to boot.
Ah, somebody got my letter. Putting the dots in like the Commander likes.
(Of course, I could have sent it about the job losses or something else and the relief is on backorder, but at least the Powers sent it and not some stupid postcard.)
Nobody wants to work anymore.
Thanks everyone! For my birthday, I got a hurricane, power and cell outage, and a shave ice machine!
One of these things is not like the other! However, that one thing is pretty awesome.
PARTY AT THE SHEEP’S EYE
Dang, y’all, that was a helluva episode. I’m gonna have to binge the whole season, I think.
So many great moments, but don’t sleep on Caspar and Doug talking birdwatching. Gold.
Happy birthday Debet! Boo hurricane, yay shaved ice?
Today is my last day in London. Tomorrow is travel all day. Booo. Vacation is so nice. And London seems quite cheap after Iceland! Too bad I didn’t remember to buy a powerball ticket and therefore didn’t win the powerball.
Happy Belated Birthday Debet!
PARTY AT THE SHEEP’S EYE
Party at the Sheep's Eye!!!

Ha! Yes!!!
My downstairs neighbor, Jamille, called me this morning so I could take a picture of her and her son, Sebastian, on his first day of 4th grade.
FB memories informed me that today is the 11th anniversary of Matilda's first day of 4th grade, and 5th anniversary of Matilda's first day of Sophomore year in HS (her first day back after the pandemic lockdown which lasted 18 months in SF).
Soph was her only good year of high school being the tiny sliver of time between worldwide pandemic and Stage 4 cancer.
Matilda hasn't really been happy since the beginning of her junior year before JZ's diagnosis. She has her moments, but she's no longer carefree or joyful. I'm not sure if she'll ever get that back.
While I object to the term "vegan cashmere" (that's not a thing), I did in fact trip and fall right into this hipster sweater trap and had to buy it: [link] I'm allergic to real wool, anyway, so woo hoo for the unbiblical manmade fibers!
("Hipster Sweater Trap" = new band name, or new album name?)
Mommy's life-long bestie was just moved into memory care - they found one near her son that would take her cat.
This time last summer my "cousin" and I got our moms together knowing it would be the last time. We knew they were failing. C was already having memory issues, mom's cancer was growing. Nevertheless, "We have to do this while we still can!" felt a little dramatic - they were... fine. Walked where they needed to be, remembered whatever eventually. People can be old ladies like that for a long long time. Or it all just ends.
