Ants are so annoying. I keep dealing with them finding the dog food—he wants to eat it when he wants to, not when I put it out. I hate to starve him but if I leave it out the ants get to it!
And I love the name/reasoning.

You need a little moat of water around the dog dish, meara! Like a saucer for a potted plant under the dish with a bit of water in it. Maybe a drop of dish soap in the water to really discourage the ants (by drowning them)
Took a fall in the kitchen last night and scared the hell out of my housemate. Nothing broken (on me; the shelving units will need some TLC) but I am not, alas, as steady on my pins as I assured my physical therapist I was last week.
My father had severe ataxia and Parkinson's-like symptoms in the last couple of years of his life; I'm trying not to see The New Unsteadiness as a sign of things to come.
The plus side: I now have both a cane and a walker to shake at The Kids On My (Metaphorical) Lawn.
Update/correction: The fall was last night (Sunday), not tonight.
Bubblewrap~ma to you, Karl. Be careful.

Ha!

I have a cheap plastic serving tray with 4 tiny nubs on the bottom that I put the food bowls in when I was having ant problems. If one still found its way onto the tray I could turn the tray into a moat or sprinkle some used coffee grounds underneath the tray until they were deterred.
Oooh, Karl. Be good to yourself!
I keep telling him we aren't recruiting, but maybe I make it look too good.
The portrait of Matilda, as painted by her dear friend, Isabella, has safely arrived!

What a treasure, David.
I am having a no good week. Yesterday I locked my keys in the car picking up ltc from camp because I was trying to pretend I could still function with a migraine. Today my car died at cap at drop off. So I had to call AAA again. I’m finally home two hours after leaving the house. Donated the Dunkin order I placed the minute before my car died to a local teen, and I still haven’t eaten anything today. It’s the alternator. We’re supposed to be taking ltc to Salem in a couple of weeks for her birthday and I was hoping to be able to spoil her a bit and I promised her she could get a mani/pedi too. Someone wake me when everything is less expensive.
