Sam Neill has been in a whole lot of things I haven't seen and yet I feel vaguely warmly towards him just from ambient goodwill I guess

Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
My household is re-watching Ted Lasso, and it's my first time through. I suddenly understand what you folks were saying about Ted (and Beard) going against the grain of toxic masculinity and machismo
We are watching as well in advance of the new season. Some fine writing in there.
The memes on FB are sucking me in the past couple weeks. Blessings on those who take the time to produce these delightful tidbits.
They remind me of our own Hecubot in some very good ways.
Awww. [jumps up and taps "Believe" sign]
Back to my Monday morning Pilates after a two week break.
My whole Father's Day - Birthday - 4th stretch plus Pilates studio closed for break and my therapist on vacay to Greece blew up my schedule. But now I'm back to my routine.
I did do more than usual socializing, clean out my nerdhole, have several doctor appointments and see some aestheticians in the meantime though so I wasn't a complete lump.
Highly mindful that Matilda only has one more month at home before going back to college. We've been watching Hacks together and I'm watching House of Dragons on my own.
The lady at the bag drop counter told me to have a good flight and I responded "you too" fortunately I was already on my way out of the country.
There is a CPK in the SJO food court. I'm not craving American flavors but I am pretty nostalgic for the 90s so that might be my lunch.

Did you build a hobo fire in a trash can in your living room? That's a sign of a thoroughly blown-up schedule.
Okay, so the food at this airport CPK is delivered to the table by robot, which seems very wrong for a restaurant that hasn't updated its menu since 1987.

I did not. And "bindlestiff" was one of JZ's favorites words, so she would have been disappointed.
You may be in a very specific kind of sci fi story, Jess.
Last night I was able to see a green sea turtle lay her eggs, cover them up, and return to the ocean. No photos because tourists are not allowed to bring anything that casts any light at all, but it was indescribable.
This sounds amazing Jess. I know you love turtles, and this seems like just a perfect thing for you!
In the realm of my mother's estate/my entire life upheaval, I have bought a car- a 2023 Hyuandai Kona with low mileage. It is not the savior I thought it would be because I have been without a car for so many years that my apartment forgot I might need a parking space. Also work will not give me a close parking space, so I have to ride a shuttle. I might as well ride the bus. But the car is nice.
I don't like this responsibility thing. Where has the life insurance gone? How do I track the taxes? etc. Why are contractors so irresponsible about meeting you when you have driven 50 minutes to be there? I just want my breaker box fixed.I don't even understand how to make my car payment, but I guess I can figure it out.
I think my new focus is just to clear out my apartment so I can move. Maybe this is reckless, but going back and forth is making me batty. I have one weekday a week to do this because I got approval for vacation one day a week. Maria, my uncle and I have ripped up all the carpet on the first floor and are cleaning the floors, and the lawn guy continues to be very helpful and took down my shed.
That sounds like a good step to focus on. Once you are relocated you will have that much more stability to make other decisions and figure out how to deal with your commute etc
