That’s great, askye!
I walked around a local lake yesterday. It’s about 2.5 miles, which isn’t much to someone in actual physical shape. But for me it felt like an accomplishment.

I got a goodly number of chores done over the weekend, but it still felt unproductive because frequent rains have kept me from doing the yard work that's piling up. (I spent the last dry evening last week mowing Mom's lawn, opting to let my back yard's transformation into a jungle progress instead.)
Tonight I go in for a sleep study that my electrophysiologist ordered. Which I'm ambivalent about—I seem to sleep deeply and usually wake up refreshed, so even if they diagnose me with sleep apnea I'm not using a CPAP machine.
Per my watch my sleep scores are almost always pitiful. Around 40. Last night I just couldn't get to sleep at all. I generally go to bed around 10 and read for an hour. I tried to sleep after reading and no success so I finished my current read at about 2 AM. My sleep score was 82. Apparently my body gets more rest reading than actually sleeping.
Matt - I use a CPAP. It took a while to get used to, but I have a routine where just putting the thing on generally makes me sleepy. I actually recommend it.
Yeah, the problem with sleep apnea (one of the problems) is that the instances where you stop breathing aren't good for your heart.
I woke up with a bit of a headache but it’s supposed to be 90 here today, and even though it was 70 outside and I had fans running all night it was still 80 in my room. So I got up and went to Lowe’s and spend $350 on a portable air conditioner for my office (my bedroom windows don’t really work for one? But my loft office windows does)
I've been using a CPAP for a few years now and it's really made a big difference in the quality of my sleep.
Hopefully the sleep study will just confirm you sleep well already
I am home from whirlwind trip to Portland for my brother's wedding, which was very nice and hippie-ish on the banks of the Sandy River with Mt Hood in the background. I guess it was hot enough in Portland yesterday to mess with the signal system that tells trains which track to go on when, so that was interesting and time consuming, but I am only a couple hours later to start work than I expected to be and nothing seems to be metaphorically on fire so, all good
Also, I was referred for a sleep study based on the way I came out of anesthesia once, so it's useful to know whether you have sleep apnea so you can let the anesthesiologist know before any surgery.
Timelies all!
Filled out my ballot for the primary and dropped it in the ballot collection bin.(or whatever they're calling it) Not much else going on here.
