Love to you and your family, Sheryl. I can't imagine how hard it is for you.

Things are still in limbo here
I am holding your family in every light I can think of.
Thank you all for the birthday greetings yesterday. I enjoyed a quiet day, and celebrated with a pizza and an ice cream sandwich.
Today is the seventh anniversary of my cancer diagnosis. Little has changed in the past year, and that is good news. I am still on the same medications, and they are doing a good job of keeping the cancer suppressed. The side effects are significant, and some days are more difficult than others, but overall I am doing pretty well.
I view each new day is a bonus day, and try to make the most of it.
Pizza and ice cream is a perfect birthday meal.
Hanging out here this morning waiting for my dog to maybe eat breakfast. This is his new thing. He doesn't want to eat in the morning anymore. He just reclines next to the bowl so the cat won't steal the food. I'll give him a few more minutes then put it away and take him to the park. People at the park say it is a very common behavior.
One easy thing about the thyroid pills is that I don't eat in the morning either. Joining in on good thoughts for Sheryl and fam.
Well, I can't let a whole day go by without a post in Natter so: there have been three big, booming claps of thunder in the last couple of minutes, but it is super sunny out the front windows. I'm hoping for a big rainbow (though I have not yet seen any rain; so far only thunder).
That's the exciting, up-to-the-minute news in my neighborhood.
Brendon's sister and boyfriend are visiting and his other sibs and various friends and spouses came to my place today and we did the beach thing.
Tired now.
Beach day sounds nice, though.
I found a local Peace festival to visit. Live music, craft vendors, lots of tattoos and tie-dye. It was fun! No thunder though—I guess that stayed south with you, Steph.
Last night I went to a board game-centric birthday party. (I won a round of 7 Wonders Architects. Go me!) On the way home I saw Jupiter and Venus close together in the sky. Very cool.
I went out to dinner with friends and had ribs, yum. DH was getting over a stomach thing, so he stayed home.
And I just listened to the first in a special hiatus series for The Amelia Priject, which is another fiction podcast I love. I have fallen deep into the audio drama hole. It's awesome.
