Cereal: Mostly, talking to her makes me feel lonelier these days, but I keep hoping it won't. Maybe "Beaches" left a mark at a formative stage.(She does kind of look like/ give off vibes of Mayim Bialik, too, although not really Bette Midler. Maybe Amy Farrah Fowler, though.) We have kind of a tradition of exchanging birthday wishes...making a point of it, I should say, since you know, Americans do that, so it's not exotic, but...it was hers on the thirteenth. And as much as the relationship is kind of on life support, it seemed like making drama for drama's sake to not make the acknowledgement. ETA: Glad I checked in with her, she's had kind of a shitty year, but I'm not so sure that we Share anymore, either. Promise me that you'll visit once I go to the Home For The Terminally Ambivalent, but call first, because it's only open sometimes.(rimshot)

Toast with cashew butter: those popovers sound like something I'd love to have, Hec. Although, really no complaints about the nut butter. Except maybe it's just slightly less good than when this company put out their own nut butter(Which is maybe a pain-- I could see that)

In other news, our dryer stopped drying, so we have purchased a new washer/dryer set.(To be fair, we bought our current set when we moved in, in 2005.)

That is a conundrum, Sophia. I guess if your mom wouldn’t want you to move to her house and your grandmother would, it sort of balances out. So doing what’s best for you seems reasonable. Of course, deciding what that is could be a whole ‘nother story.

I spent yesterday and today helping my sister and brother in law get their boat ready to go in the water. Lots of buffing and moving things hither and yon. Kinda tiring, but the weather was mostly lovely.
