Just got back from my scheduled post-op exam following cataract surgery on my 2nd eye. Bad news: both eyes have developed cystoid macular edema (CME: [link] ).
I'll be taking stronger steroid eyedrops in both eyes, four times a day for the next three weeks. I'm trying to stay optimistic that the treatment will work and the world will get less blurry.
Vision~ma~, dcp. I hope the steroids help.
Hugs and love to whoever wants/needs them, regardless of whether this week is especially tough or not. Good news here: Roomie K's dad came through his cardiac procedure all right; she doesn't need to take a second trip up to Reno to see him immediately. She and her hubby will probably make another trip in June; they just came back from one this past weekend.
Steroid ~ma, dcp. Pulling for you.
Good news, Karl.
Goodness dcp. Fingers crossed the drops do their work.
My Uber got in a car accident on the way to my doctor appointment.
Fun! Some guy pulled out of his parking spot without looking and nailed the passenger side door.
Fortunately my driver reacted and swung away from the impact so just a glancing shot on my side.
Wow, that could have been bad.
Karl, glad to read that. I know you were worried for them.
Good luck with your treatment, dcp.
Not much new here, but we did buy the first cherries of the season yesterday....some of the few things I like about summer.
Yikes! David.
dcp, I’m sorry.
So many beautiful Arts & Crafts homes, abandoned and crumbling. I wouldn’t call it my happy place; it’s my element, I guess.
I'm with Mom. I texted her this morning to chat and say good morning. She said she wasn't feeling great and was having "extreme weakness" in her legs. But she had an appointment this afternoon. Which she was going to drive to.
I told her I'd come up and then argued with her some about it and got up here an hour before her appointment time. Except she wasn't home because she'd left for her appointment, she got confused about the time of the appointment and then when I was going to come up.
Then she refused to let me drive to the appointment. One thr drive she admitted to almost falling 2x recently and actually falling and her neighbor ladies couldn't help her up p they called 911. And she almost tripped over her feet getting out of the car at the doctors office.
I ended up with her keys when she went to see the doctor and she is now waiting for a CT scan and something else. We had a fight about if she should drive or not. She thinks she is fine to drive. She didn't ask the doctor about it, she didn't think it was necessary.
I want to call her doctor's office and ask them but I don't think she'll pay attention to them anyway. I'm not off again until Saturday and then I'm working until Tues.
Mom hates HATES having to rely on anyone. When I told her I was coming up she balked and then told me "you are teaching me to just hide things from you"
I'm so frustrated right now
