Our grandson, same age, is now living with us,
That truly sounds win-win.
So, be impressed, my condo neighbors started a Mahjong night last week, and tonight was the second session. Only one person knows what she is doing and she is teaching the rest of us. I won the first game tonight! Of course I had to check with her to be sure I was reading the card right because it is absurdly complicated, but she goes from person to person giving advice and answering our endless questions. It is more fun than I expected. None of us are at all competitive so it is a lot of fun.
So my new PCP has been ignoring my electronic message, so this means I have to actually get on the phone, talk to humans, and try to get my prescription (which ran out today) refilled. Wish me luck.
I'm sorry, Tom. May the call go better than anticipated.
OK, the call went smoothly, but guy on the phone can’t do anything other than ping the doctor’s office. We’ll see how it turns out.

Ugh, that is the goddamn worst, even for people who don't mind talking on the phone. It's always such a pain in the ass to unfuck something that you didn't fuck up in the first place.

Man, the payoff for making an actual pain-in-the-ass phone call should be better than "I'll ping the doctor's office." Boo.
Everything medical related is such a fucking hassle. Dealing with Grace aging out pediatrics is a nightmare mess. We haven’t been able to get in to see an orthopedic doc and I’ve spent 3 days on the phone trying to make it work. Unsuccessfully.
Happy birthday to Mac! I will think good job-with-health-benefits thoughts for him.
I hate calling doctors so I try to use My chart for all my appointment setting needs. Luckily my Dr and the office is fairly responsive .
We had appointments with our PCP scheduled, and then his paternity leave dates changed, which means pushing appointments out another three months. Sigh.
Just called a second time, and was told that my request can take up to 48 hours.
That’s for a prescription refill.
That is some kind of bullshit, Tom.
