Wise words, Shir.
For the first time in some years, I don't have any friends nearby who are hosting Seder. As I think I've mentioned here before, I was not born Jewish and I have no particular desire to convert, but all my life I have had enough Jewish folks (both religiously and culturally) in my immediate orbit that I could faintly feel the rhythm of the Hebrew calendar in my day-to-day life. I miss that connection now.
(I was going to post something here about my early-childhood crush on my next-door neighbour, but I burst into tears halfway through it; I'm not sure that story is ready to come out yet.)
In any case, those of you who are gathering for Passover, hold your loved ones close and know that I am thinking of you.
Thank you for sharing those beautiful passages, Shir. May this Passover bring peace and joy to you and yours.
Thank you for sharing that with us, Shir
Good news: the replacement order of my prescription medication (abiraterone acetate) just arrived. No charge.
::whew::
The timeline:
16March order placed through the web site.
18March order shipped.
23March expected delivery date.
24March revised delivery date.
24March delivery notice email received, but package was not in my mailbox.
24March missing package reported.
31March replacement order shipped, email notification received.
01April replacement order received.
So it took five business days from report of missing package to shipping the replacement. At least they sent the replacement by overnight service.
Lesson learned: order the next refill at least twelve business days before supply runs out.
Glad to hear you got your meds, dcp. But egads, what a bunch of added stress.
Whew, dcp! Also, if you ever need a blood transfusion you are welcome to some of mine! Have blood will travel.
Shir, that’s beautiful. doc, glad it’s Ben resolved but damn what frustration!
I found out today that i have a time slot for presale Olympic ticket purchasing. Suffice it to say am so excited!
Oh, wow, kat, that’s so exciting!
I am on a cocktail of otc meds that seem to have the cough under control but my one ear is still dodgy. My balance is off so I decided not to even try to work, but the interesting thing is I get a tinny echo in that ear, even right now with a train whistle. Super weird. Made listening to Midnight Burger very confusing as I kept thinking “is that a sound effect or is that just my ear?” and missing the actual dialing and/or action
Why do they even make “not for passover use” matzo? Is it like factory seconds?
